An old man was frustrated with the electric company where he lived. He paid nearly $300 in bills a month, yet there was a power outage in his neighborhood about once every two months.
When the next electricity bill arrived, the old man took a marker and scrawled "This is ROBBERY!!!" on the back of the bill, then took it to the bank along with the rest of his bills.
When he presented the teller with the stack of bills, she sorted them, then paled when she saw the back of the electric bill. She pressed the robbery alarm button, then asked "W. . .what do you want?" The old man said "I just want all my bills paid." The teller began screaming and throwing money at the man as the police arrived.
As the police were about to take him to jail, the man finally understood what was going on, and quickly explained that the "This is robbery" was meant as a protest to the electric company: not as a bank robbery.
