Same here. Both ears pierced, one hole per. I don't recall when they got pierced so I'm guessing it happened when I was a baby.

On a side note, I didn't know that getting a girl's ear pierced in the US was such a big deal until I read this book, Sweet Valley High, and one of the main characters was pleading with her parents to get her ears pierced. She was 16 and her parents still said no 'cause she was still too young. I was surprised by that since where I come from, even baby girls get their ears pierced.

Both my ears are pierced; the right lobe once and the left lobe twice. I had them done after I got out of the service, back in the Enlightened Eighties. :)

Do you ever wear earrings?

I wear Black Titanium 12 guage caption rings in both my lobes and a 16 gauge in my upper cartilage. I also have my left ear pierced 3 times, but I only wear one now in that ear, except the cartilage ring.

I am not into facial piercings too much, at least not on a guy.

I am getting used to the idea of a tongue ring though on girls.

I kinda like the bellybutton piercings.

I pierced my ears when I was 13 against my parents wishes, they hated my long hair and hated the earrings, but in the eighties I wore like dangling crosses and other stuff.

I was so cool.

Both ears pierced, but I almost never wear earrings, because I forget to take 'em off when I go to bed and I get hurt trying to sleep. I'm not real clever. Nothing else piereced, no tattoos... I'm really dull. :)

Beloved Spouse has a nose ring and both ears pierced, I think one ear pierced twice, and several tattoos. A Celtic knotwork dog, a weird little symbol she signs paintings with, a cross, and the names of the four archangels in a script that some people say is what angels write in.

I had two holes in my left ear but both are now closed. My daughter now wears my earings.

JoieDeVivre; We live in the states and have had all our daughters ears pierced as infants. I believe it is a cultural thing as opposed to a geographical thing.

Peace in Xp,

I have three holes in each ear and one cartilage in my left ear. Though it's pretty tame since some of the men here have as many as I ~smile~

I got the first ones in third grade, the second in 8th, the cartilage my sophmore yr (1984) and the third ear piercings about 9 years ago.

Both my girls were itty bitty when I got theirs done (1 was 6 wks and 1 was 10 mos). My oldest (15 on thurs) has double pierced ears (got them for her last birthday) and will get another set for her fifteenth birthday. (oh yea, both my girls have a cartilage piercing, but my 12yo let hers close after repeated infections. What next? tattoos? Well maybe for their 18th birthdays LOL.

beckijhn!! Thanks to you and your daughter for the e-cards for my daughter. she was thrilled. She had a pretty good day. she was mad because sat. i took her to the local st Pat s day parade--even though we are not Irish--instead of to the mall to spend money. She was happier when the marchers started throwing candy to her.
Happy b-day to your daughter in case I am not here on Thursday,

Yeah, but it's mostly just jeweled studs any more, and then not all the time. Mommy just sort of rolls her eyes when she sees me wearing them. When I was in college I wore them every day. I usually wear piercing studs at night, just to keep the piercings open and comfortable, although I didn't wear any earrings at all for about six years, and the holes never closed. :)
I am not into facial piercings too much, at least not on a guy.

I can see earlobes and noses, but that's about it. I don't care for multiples, and I don't like "body" piercings---eyebrows, navels, etc......and the very thought of a tongue piercing absolutely horrifies me; the inside of your mouth is the most unsanitary place on the planet.

Once in a while, I do small gold hoops, or shaped studs like stars or crosses or something.

In college, I wore some dangles that were black carbonized miniature replicas of M-16 bayonets; girls thought they were too cool.

If I tried to wear them now (or any dangle, for that matter), Mommy would kill me. :)
I was so cool.
Me, too. ;)

I can sleep with them in (except for hoops), but I recall pulling a sweater on over my head once, and getting the material caught in an earring....that smarts, lemme tell ya.

Mommy has one pierce in each earlobe, so I'm one up on her. Neither of us have any tattoos, and I'm not about to get one. I mean, if you ever want to undo earrings, all you gotta do is take 'em out, and except for the holes in your ears, you're all set. But when you have a tattoo, you're stuck with it, unless you want to spend megadollars to have it removed.

I have both my ear pierced, once each. I would have my belly button done but after I got my ears done it transpired that I was allergic to metal and when I wear less than most pure gold my ears go all [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] and red so I don't think i'll be doing that!!

jayemcintyre, are you sure you don't have a nickel allergy? A lot of jewelery uses a good deal of nickel, and many people have an allergy to it. I can't wear earrings unless they're gold or hypoallergenic surgical steel; the cheap ones with nickel as a base metal make my pierces break out, ooze, and get all crusty.

Speaking of which, do you know why men who wear earrings make the best husbands?

They've bought jewelery and they know how to suffer. :)
