Okay, just curious,
Anyone hiring for anything?
America became an energy exporter over the last year and a half or so. Right now, a lot of companies are having to expand to deal with it. Maybe you can get on with an energy company. Surf their page and see what all they have listed.
I should say that there's a trickle down effect going on here.
More oil being shipped means more truck drivers are needed. More tanker crewmen are needed for after the oil gets loaded into the cargo holds. More accountants are needed to track the costs and profits. More IT staff are needed for information assurance on these corporate networks, the automated vessels, etc. More construction crews are needed to build restaurants near the energy company's headquarters. More fry staff are needed to work in said new restaurants. More oil field workers are needed in Texas and other places to do the actual drilling. More scientists are needed for refinement procedures. More OCD types are needed for stuff like QA, efficiency consultations, etc. More mechanical engineers are needed to design and build new oil rigs.
My point is there's a lot to choose from just in the energy sector. Blue collar, white collar, full time, part time, temp, all the different disciplines and specialties. Companies are reaching the point where they can't insist on degrees anymore. They just need warm bodies to do the work. At the rate things are growing, that won't change any time soon.
There's likely to be even more opportunities coming along. That stuff up there is just fossil fuels. Green energy is the future and there's been some absolutely amazing advancements and investments made over the last year or two that will start paying out within the next year or two. If you're a more forward-thinking type who doesn't mind the odd risk here and there, green energy might be your ticket into the big time.
This rising tide is lifting all boats. There hasn't been a better time to build a career in my entire adult life.
