I have recently been asking myself as a Christian who should I vote for in an election. Really what I am asking myself is what criteria should I have as a Chrtistian in voting for people in government. What I have concluded is that I as a Christian should vote for the person that wil help the most needy or underepresented people in the country or community I live in. Leaving this decision up to each individual Christian on who the most needy are. Any thoughts?

Obama has integrity that is agonizingly absent from the Republican party. I mean, McCain making the lipstick on a pig remark about Hilary Rodham then crying fowl when Obama does the same thing shows character of the crappiest order, IMHO.
Obama seems to be spot-on when integrity issues arise, time and time again.
I won't vote for either, however, as Obama is just too liberal for me. If Obama encounters trouble in California (he won't) I'll vote for him, though...

Ok. My post was about as Christians how should we vote in general. I do not care to debate the current presidential race.

Should we vote for the person that can help us the most, the person that has the most Christian ideas etc.

My current thought is that we should vote for the person that can do most for the least in whatever community they serve. Any thoughts?

locally, vote against all taxes. Vote against incumbents.

I would be interested to hear what the theological rationale is for your voting strategy Bill.

Myself, I tend to go pretty much with Condor's strategy: vote for whichever candidate is most strongly riented thoward serving those whom Jesus served: the blind, the sick, the hungry, the captives, the poor

I assume you are young. I voted for Nixson, but then did not like Ford and voted for Carter. Then I grew up some and Voted for Regan. I can not vote for a party that will remove a living being from the womb and KILL a baby.

NO! that is not the only thing which I look at. The Dem. VP made 2milllion and gave 36,00 total over 7 years. Is that the kind of giving you look for. Most of all Dems tell you how much they care, but they will not drill for oil.

I could go on and on, but the bottom line is Vote for the Rep. I don't think much of McCain, but I do love Sarah.

So you can believe the lies or seek the truth.

With respect.....Censor

FIRST & foremost...PRAY!!!

Be in God's WORD and ask for His leading.

It's not something to take lightly.

Review what each candidate stands for, how does it line up with the Word of God?

After you've done all that then make a decision that you can be comfortable with.

God Bless,

Jeff

God forbids the demon-crazy, (democracy) mob rule, idol worshiping left and right blood sucking politicks systems. Poli=many ticks=bloodsuckers.

A true follower of Jesus Christ and His Father the Lord our God does not vote or participate in this idol worship.

Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the Day cometh, that shall burn like an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the "I AM" Lord of hosts, that it shall leave of them neither root nor branch (nothing).
4:2 But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in The Day that I shall do [this], saith the "I AM" Lord of hosts.
4:4 Remember ye and return to The Law of Moses My servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the Statutes and Judgments.
4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the Prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful Day of the "I AM":

Truly, I've not found a candidate yet who I really support. I've been voting since 1980 (missed it by a few weeks in 76) and have written in four times.
(Dick Gregory, who would be a great president).
Not even sure this year, like to wait til almost the last minute with lots of soul searching to decide.
