Who is the spirtual leader in your home?

In my house it is me as my husband is not a christian but it is a scary thing because i do not know what things i should be leading in.

Should i be praying with my kids each day? should i be reading them bible each day? do i tell my husband about stuff in the bible?

What do you all do?

Well, first of all I just want to say that I don't think I'm qualified to answer the question about your husband but I definately think it's very important to share the bible and prayer and Jesus with your children. I remember doing that with my Mom and it is some of the sweetest memories of my childhood. My mom even took a picture of me on my knees with my hands together, praying and on my birthday had it printed on the back of the church bulleton. It was so sweet of her to do that. I love her for doing that for me. I heard a song about a mother and the song said things like, "Thank you Mom for telling me about Jesus" and that song made me cry. I wish I knew what the song was. ha ha. I've only heard it once. Anyways, I think it's very very important. They are going to grow up to be like you and the things you have taught them the most. I hope you decide to do this. I love you!!

Actually, we consider Ty the spiritual leader of our home. Her full titled name is The Reverend Tyrese LaShonda Miller. She was ordained in November 1998 by the Universal Life Church. I sent off $15 and got the ordination certificate just to show how easy it is to get “ordained”, if stuff like credentials, certificates, and papers are important to you.

Ty is our black cat.

And because she is fully ordained, I guess she qualifies as the spiritual leader of our home. She preys more than prays and will lay paws on you when she feels led.

We share joint reponsibilities. (My wife and I. We do pray regularly with our two boys. But, most importantly to us is family "worship time".

We either play live music and allow the boy sto pray and worship during this time or we put on a CD and worship together.

Also, the kids go to sleep every night with some kind of worship or praise music.

Today, Wednesday, my 9 year old led a young boy on the school bus this afternoon to the Lord through confession and repentance.

Feed their spirits and they will spend their spiritual energy on what you have fed them for. The fuel will direct their works of righteousness.

In the beginning, I was moving along at a faster pace than hubbie. But...I was praying he would become my spiritual leader....it's a very safe place to be. Within two months of my praying, my husband was somehow kidnapped and replaced by this incredible, Bible-absorbing, wisdom-speaking, tongue-talking, worshipping fool! No more GD this and GD that....he was a Christian, but a bit rough around the edges....When I would try to 'teach' something to him....oftentimes it came out like preaching and we argued a lot. You're better off setting examples and letting him see your joy.....when he saw what happened after I got filled with the Spirit....he wanted it too. I love my husband.....just pray for yours and sit back and watch God do what He does best.
