Joe, you have been totally misled. I thought I recognized some of your musings. You are an apostle for the late heretic L. Ray Smith. His teachings are non trinitarian and completely heterodox. You have fallen for devil’s teachings. I will continue to respond to your posts but only to expose the heretical teachings.

I’m goes beyond misinterpretation. This poster follows the heretical teachings of the now deceased L Ray Smith. He espoused not only universalism but also non Trinitarian beliefs. Look him up if you want to know more.
We were warned this would happen.

Galatians 1:6-9

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

It's better to be a heretic than a pagan.
No, not that I can tell. But it would be better to never be born than to be a heretic or a pagan destined for destruction or already condemned.

@d taylor

The only condition God states to receive the free gift, is to believe God's promise.

Condition ? Thats a work then. I never seen anywhere in scripture to include all of Johns writings that belief is a condition man meets in order to be saved or have eternal life.

See if Salvation is conditioned on anything a man must do, it automatically disqualifies as salvation by Grace.

God knows all things. He’s never surprised, IOW. But He uses our foreknown choices to ultimately bring about His plans, rather than predetermining those choices.
This is unscriptural with no biblical evidence.

Dear GreatMysteryofChrist,
Do you have any scripture to show that God has preserved his word in some other translation than the KJV?
Perhaps a better question would be this: Is there any bible verse that even mentions translations of the bible? I cannot think of a single one, can you?

The KJV is a beautiful translation, and I like the NKJV even better. However, when trying to understand a passage in Scripture, it is best to look at more than one translation. There are many Christians in the world that don’t speak English, and most of the translations are based on the best of original texts when possible. I’m often surprised that the Polish translation makes certain passages clearer. No doubt that the linguists who wrote the KJV were prayerful and devoted to God, but other translators were the same.

This thread is closed for staff review.

In the meantime, a rather large clean up was done of posts that conflict with the site Statement of Faith and responses. It is not okay to teach against the Trinity on this site, and Universalism can only be discussed in Controversial Christian Theology.

Heaven and hell have the same root
Sorry, what do you men by heaven and hell having the same root? Are you talking about the origin of the words "heaven" and "hell", either in English or in the original bible languages, or do you mean that heaven and hell share a common origin?

The fire of God is heaven to some but hell to others.

T
he same divine reality is joy to the redeemed and torment to the damned.

This is not a very controversial idea.

2 Corinthians 2:15–16

For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life.

Aroma and fire are not the same thing.

Fascinating, that never occurred to me, thank you.
Perhaps the NT concepts used the way Jesus used them would be more meaningful.

Ir's hard to "improve" on what he said. . .just sayin'.
