No, men do not watch soaps. And I speak for all men. Except for that one guy down the street who is unmarried and is sometimes seen walking a French poodle. He'll have to speak for himself.

If you can admit to watching:)
Do men watch soaps?

When I was a kid, the babysitter watched Days of Our Lives. This was around '84 or so. All that to say, I did watch Bo and Hope get married.

I don't watch them now but as a teenager in the 1970s I did. Had to. My mother watched them so there you go. But let me tell you a story. God did use one to get me closer to him. 1975 I was going through tough times. As a young teenager (long story short) I had I guess you'd call it nervous breakdown a time of darkness lets say. For weeks I felt the only thing I could do was lay on my parents couch, take nerve pills...but on this silly soap opera The Young and the Restless, there was an alcoholic woman Mrs Chancellor (she was on the show for years) but in fiction she was an alcoholic but her son Brock who was a Christian kept bringing her the Bible every day saying all the answers are in the Bible, all the answers are in the Bible.

So I got a Bible at our place and started to read and I read about God who loved me and cared about me....the more I read PEACE started coming into my life and I began to see that this is the way of life. Others things happened but God did use this silly show to get my attention to bring me closer to him.

Below picture of Beau Kazer (son Brock) and Jeanne Cooper (Mrs Chancellor Brock's mother in the show) I know it sounds crazy but they were used by God in helping to get into my spiritual relationship with God. (The year 1975-1976) Not saying one should watch soap operas, probably not much good in them current days but I thank God for their helping me even though they were just actors.

It was still going strong until a few months ago. It went streaming. I wonder if that is a better way. Seems like they would have less audience. I think they will all go that way. I'm not sure the meaning. Were they failing the way they were or succeeding so they went to pay tv. It's confusing.

Nice, the witness. I forgot Brock. God finds a way to witness. Thanks for that. They haven't stopped with healing subjects. Alcoholism, mental illness. I just wish they didn't have the gay scene unless they had the negatives of it.

Yeah the son Brock.....that was in the middle 1970's. As I say I never watched the show again....well except when I'd visit my Mom through the years. She always had to watch her soaps so I guess I always had knowledge of a few things. That actress Jeanee Cooper though.....Mrs Chancellor....she stayed on that show for over 40 years.....right up to the time she died in real life. Character Victor Newman too, (Eric Braeden) a rich guy in the movie Titanic.....on about the same amount of years I guess. Always thought of him a a real cool bad guy through the years. Then Nicky....remember when she came on the show.....young girl in young twenties......all these years they've been on it. For actors on Soap Opera's pretty good gig though. Work two or three days a week , as your days of filming are different then others actors .... pretty good pay although not like a movie star . I talked online with a soap opera star once.....they said they actually did like it if there was a story line they felt could really encourage someone.

Yeah I see from Wiki, character Victor came on the show in 1980. Yeah that seems about right. I was watching in 76 and don't remember Victor at that time. No but really I never watched the show, well except seeing little segments while visiting my Mother for after 50 years after. many times I'd sit on the porch until the show was over. My Mom would give me the basic idea though of what was taking place.
