• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

We all know Jesus died on the cross and and resurrected on the third day. What else do we know about Jesus?

In Christ Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdodm and knowledge. (Colossians)

How can I stop cutting?
The knowledge is hidden in Christ Jesus.

How can I rid depression?
The knowledge is hidden in Christ Jesus.

I see post after post asking the same question: how can I stop cutting?

I beg you, my friends: Know Jesus. You will surely stop cutting.

The scriptures testify on my behalf. (John)

All scriptures point to Jesus. There is no book in the Bible that does not point to Jesus.

Sister GoldenViolet started a Bible study thread. Get involved. Read the verses she posted. If you cannot understand, ask her questions. If it is too fast, ask her to slow down. If too slow, tell her to pace up. The words will guide you to Jesus. And peace will guard your mind. You will not only stop cutting but also do greater things than you can imagine.

All things are possible through Christ. Cutting also. I use to think that there was no way that I could stop cutting but then I realized I was depending on myself to stop. We must depend on Jesus and come to Him if we are ever to stop. I still struggle with it but the more I go to God instead of feeding my lust of the flesh the more control I have over cutting, depression, and any life in general! Lily00:angel:

you guys, i'd like to share something very tender that was written to me as a was grieved over circumstances:
When I find myself discouraged or covered in greif I have learned that there is only one place to go, to the foot of that glorious cross where our precious Savior willingly sacrificed His life for ours. Only the shoulders that were beaten and torn, then covered in a robe of mockery are strong enough to carry the burdens we find ourselves with. Only the hands that were pierced with nails are tender enough to hold us and give us comfort in our time of need. No one on earth has the power of the one who can call down legions of angels... but didn't. Only on that glorious day when the eastern sky is split open by a King returning for His bride will our battle be over. Until then, we are free to take our worn out bodies and souls to the foot of the cross and become cleansed and refreshed in the ever precious blood of our savior and Lord, Jesus Christ! Take heart and know that your labor is not in vain and that all your effort will bear good fruit for the kingdom of God.

Jesus, is my Savior. Jesus is my Lord.

How many of us know Jesus as God?

1)When Jesus said to rough waters and high winds, "Calm," the sea became calm.

2) When Jesus said to evil spirits, "Come out," they came out.

3) When a woman touched Jesus' garment, power came out of him and healed her.

4) When your heart is troubled, can you go to anyone or any spirit and say, "Give me peace," and get peace? Jesus said, "Peace I give you."

Jesus is God. And his words are recorded in the Bible. If we read books written by mortals, shall we not read the book of his words all the more? If the words of mortals are worthy of reading, are the words of Jesus more worthy of our reading?

You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. (John)

Friends,
I beg you to read his words even one or two minutes a day. The words will cleanse our hearts of unworthy desires.
