  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Many, many Christians in the USA are supporters of the nation of Israel, i.e. the Jewish people. They stand with the nation of Israel. But, is this biblical? Is this of God? Or, could this be of Satan and of the antichrist?

First let’s look at who is Israel and who is NOT Israel. The promises of God spoken to Abraham were to him and to his seed (singular), which is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Messiah, the Christ (Gal. 3:10, 16).

Jesus, in his death on a cross, put to death the hostility between Jew and Gentile and he made us both one in Christ, through faith in Jesus Christ, so that there is no more division between Jew and Gentile (Eph 2:14-18).

Not everyone who is a Jew by physical birth is Israel. They are not all Abraham’s children. It is only the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. So, who are the children of promise? ONLY believers in Jesus Christ (Rom 9:6-8; Gal. 3:26-29; Gal. 4:22-31).

So, Israel is ONLY those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior of their lives. So, where does that leave the Jewish people who don’t believe in Jesus? According to Scripture, they are of Hagar, for they are still in slavery to sin. And, they are the antichrist (Gal. 4:22-31; 1 Jn. 2:22).

So, if you believe that, biblically speaking, you are to support and to stand with Israel, then that would mean that you are to support and to stand with those who by faith in Jesus Christ are the children of promise.

And, that also means that if you believe that you are to support and to stand with the nation of Israel, you are standing with and you are supporting the antichrist, who is the persecutor of Christians. You are supporting the enemy (1 Jn 2:22; Gal 4:22-31).

"For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, ‘It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.’ In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring." ~ Romans 9:6b-8

“His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility... For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” ~ Eph. 2:14-18

“For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law… The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," MEANING ONE PERSON, who is Christ.” ~ Gal. 3:10, 16

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” ~ Gal. 3:26-29

“For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise. These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

“Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. IT IS THE SAME NOW. But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.” ~ Gal. 4:22-31

~ “Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.” ~ 1 Jn. 2:22

The sheep are scattered among all the nations (including the nation Israel) ... more yet that will come to the Lord.

Yes, but the point is that we don't support or stand with the physical nation of Israel, as a world government, thinking we are standing with and supporting the people of God. No other nation other than the nation of Israel are Christians encouraged to give their support to and to stand with. We aren't being encouraged to stand with Russia, China, England, France, India, Iran, Mexico, etc.

The point is that we don't give our support to nor do we stand with any ungodly nation, for the nation of Israel, as a nation, does not believe in Jesus Christ. Yes, there are many true followers of Jesus all around the globe, and they are the ones we should stand with, with those who are truly following Jesus with their lives, not with any government of men.

wrong answer. the covenant with Abraham has two clear clauses and some minor clauses. You equate in your seed all the nations in the world will be blessed with Jesus and I agree completely with you. This is one clause and as you will I can accept there is thing as spiritual Israel. Now this clause has nothing to do with the 2nd clause which is your descendants will become a great nation and inherit the land of Canaan as a permanent possession. When we get to the 2nd coming and the millennium we see hundreds of literal prophecies being fulfilled along these lines. I can present a before and after picture that matches the prophecies literally where you can have your spiritual Israel and the 12 tribes existing and fulfilling the word exactly as spoken.

Christians encouraged to give their support to and to stand with.

The US over it's history has jumped in and helped many countries.

Christians themselves have missions in many countries .... the directive for Christians is the Great Commission and has nothing to do with governments.

Matthew 28

18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

with those who are truly following Jesus with their lives, not with any government of men

and who would that be? Not all Americans do this. Not any one country does this.

Daniel 2:21

Romans 13:1
Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God.

His plan will play out exactly how He wants it to ... no doubt.

We are to focus on the Great Commission ... God will take care of the rest.

Mark 2:17
On hearing this, Jesus told them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Yes, we must focus on the great commission. Yes, we must give humanitarian aid to people of other nations. That is not what this is about. This is about Christians being taught that the Jews are still God's chosen people and that we must give them our spiritual support and we must spirutually stand with and unite with them as one and if we don't that we are to be cursed, even put to death. It is like saying that we need to spiritually agree with and give our spiritual backing to any false religion.

I don't know of .... ever heard of these statements (being cursed) ... because of our Judeo-Christian background we do stand with them .... but that does not mean we believe what they believe. Like I said, we have .... and do .... help out all kinds of people and it's not always tied to religion .... it's tied to freedom. It isn't over yet my friend .... still many Jews to receive Jesus.

If the Jews hadn't protected the oracles of God .... we wouldn't have them. So least-wise be thankful that they did. They are indeed a big part history. Jesus taught from the OT ... Jesus was a Jew .... all the apostles were Jews.

We have false religions in the US .... what would you do with them? We have those who have no religion at all .... what would you do with them? We have people that practice witchcraft .... worship satan .... what would you do with them? What about China .... what would you do with them.

We stand with and for Jesus .... period ... and spread the gospel .... and not pick and choose who we do that with based on whether they may or may not have a false religion .... ALL nations , tongues & peoples.

People are going to believe what they want to believe ... we are to just get the message out ..... everywhere.

Each of us are responsible for what we believe .... it is personal freedom of choice .... and that is God given to mankind by God himself. (and thank the Lord for that one!)

Are you a
antisemite?

It is like saying that we need to spiritually agree with and give our spiritual backing to any false religion.

No ... it's not saying this at all.

I pray the Lord will change your thinking on this matter. Amen.

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Gen 12:1-3

Many people are teaching that this still applies today, that we must bless the nation of Israel, the Jewish nation, and if we dishonor it by saying anything against it, anything that would not be considered blessing it, that we are to be cursed of God, even put to death. I had two friends of mine threaten to kill me because I taught what the Scriptures taught about the Jewish nation, as I shared here. People take this very seriously.

They are convincing Christians that they must see the Jewish nation as still the people of God, the children of promise, and thus they must give them loyalty, devotion, and their allegiance, that they are to support their decisions, to stand with them in the decisions they make, and that their enemies should be our enemies.

There is a movement today which is like the Judaizers of the time of the early church where Christians are being convinced that the nation of Israel is God's holy people and that we are to align with them, and become more like them, and take upon ourselves some of their culture and practices. So, the words Paul spoke in Galatians 3 & 4 God is still speaking to us today that the Jewish nation (those that don't believe in Jesus) are the antichrist, the persecutors of Christians, that they are still in slavery to sin, so they are of Hagar, the slave woman, so we are to rid ourselves of those who are trying to convince us that we owe them some loyalty or devotion or that we need to be more like them.

So, if we align ourselves spiritually and politically with those who are the antichrist and the persecutors of Christians, then we are aligning ourselves with the antichrist and we are giving support to those who are persecuting and killing Christians. Jesus told the Jews who would not believe in him that their father was not Abraham, and that their Father was not God, but that their father was the devil. So, if we align ourselves with those whose father is the devil we are aligning ourselves with the devil.

It is what the Scriptures teach. These are not my thoughts or my ideas.

hmmm ... well people may very well believe this .... but is a twisting of scripture. Amazing what people come up with .... good grief.

1 John 3:8
The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil.

Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

1 John 3:12
We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous.

1 John 3:10
By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.

Acts 13:10
And said, “You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?

Acts 5:3
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?

Matthew 13:38
The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,

1 John 5:19
We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

Israel are God's elect, both Jew and Gentile. God hasn't brought in his remaining remnant yet. Pray for God's elect, pray that his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

I think Jesus is Israel .... so therefore ... as you say ... anyone found in Him is His Israel as well.

Here's an interesting article I found about the Hebrew name Israel ... the Hebrew language is a very in depth language ...

Jesus is the king of kings, the Lord of Lords, he's the head of the body (his church). He's the bridegroom, we're his bride. We'll never be in full unity in marriage til the bride and the bridegroom unite together. A promise he gave in the OT and the NT, a promise we look forward to having faith in Christ and always looking to that glorious day, longing to bring others into that fold.

God bless
