When God gave us free will, did He turn control over to us? Or what about the devil? Jesus Himself referred to satan as “the god of this world.”

Psalm 139:2,4 tells us:
“You understand my thought afar off…For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

But yet, He didn’t know what Abraham’s choice would be?
“…for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” (Gen 22:12)

Did God put Trump in office, or did “we the people?”

Your thoughts?

When God gave us free will, did He turn control over to us?

No: Daniel 4:35

Or what about the devil?

Everything is in subjection to the will of God: Job 1:12, Romans 9:18

Jesus Himself referred to satan as “the god of this world.”

Technically Jesus spoke of the "prince of this world" and that isn't clearly "satan": at any rate, to whomever He is referring, Jesus came to "cast him out": John 12:31. After the resurrection, Christ assumed full control of heaven and earth: Matthew 28:18, 1 Peter 3:22

But yet, He didn’t know what Abraham’s choice would be?
“…for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” (Gen 22:12)

He knew it: 1 John 3:20, John 21:17

Did God put Trump in office, or did “we the people?”

God did. Romans 13:1

This is like the posts I see about "Do we really have free will since He knows out future?". Its hard to answer honestly. Though I tend to think of it as He has a plan for whoever wins. Trump or Hillary. He knows every outcome already. But we choose the tracks we go down at every turn and for every turn He has a plan.

Some say "But what about being saved? If someone is not saved and goes to hell, does that mean it was His plan?". No. Because why would He say to spread the word if He knew some people would reject it?

I say its more of, again He knows all the turns we could possibly take and the outcomes. So the fact is someone could die unsaved and go to hell because of their own free will. He won't force us to take the turn that leads to salvation. He maybe can "nudge" us but we have free will and He won't interfere really.

Some have said "What about someone for example in the deep jungles of the somewhere that no one really visits? Are they doomed to hell because they didn't hear the message?". Technically no. The bible says His return will not happen until every corner of the earth has heard about the bible. So that means at that point theres no reason for people not to be saved because they heard the truth. And thus they used their own free will to ignore Jesus. Hence God did not choose.
