Many people died over the last few days including beloved Susanne Pleshette best known as the witty wife in the Bob Newhart show and she barely was mentioned. Yet every newscast was about some guy called Heath Ledger, did I miss something, did he find the cure to cancer or make a new lifesaving drug, what did he do for mankind, what did he do to garner so much attention......hmm I wonder..

Which is more newsworthy an actress who is retired and dies in her seventies or a young successful actor who dies in his apartment of unknown causes.

I really liked some of the movies Heath was in until he was in the movie "Brokeback Mountain". It was about two homosexual cowboys.

Every heterosexual man in America cringed at that movie Red, and that's why Heath's name is pretty famous.

He wasn't homosexual in real life though....he hooked up with the actress that played his wife in that movie.

He was a good actor. May he rest in peace.

I think the reason he is getting so much press is because of the circumstances surrounding his death. A guy in his prime, 28 years of age, found dead in his apartment, and he is/was a movie star. Thats why the press.

Its so sad. He was so young. We need to pray for his 2 year old daughter! Plus the rest of his family. I am sure his daughter is wondering about her daddy by now.

No, there is more to this story, now Hollywood is trying to cover up the drugs and drinking that led to his demise....

Ledger, 28, died in his Manhattan apartment January 22. Authorities suspect a possible drug overdose, but the cause of his death is still pending the outcome of toxicology tests. Police said several prescription drugs -- but nothing illegal -- were found in the Manhattan apartment where the "Brokeback Mountain" actor's body was found.

Red--what really upsets me is all the over the top hype that our news channels give to such trivia from Follywood when we have a nation that is about to implode with a myriad of real problems.

I'm so weary of the spoon fed pablum garbage that flood our airwaves. Seems the American ppl are playing their fiddles while Rome burns.

WHO CARES ABOUT BRITTNEY SPEARS or ANNA NICOLE SMITH or any of the other narcissistic bimbo's who need nothing more than a good kick in the pants. But this is what the American ppl have come to crave because they have been so dumbed down by our public fool system.
