I saw on a TV program some days ago, a minister tell the person who was interviewing him, say that the majority of Christians believe that “Good” non-Christians will go to heaven. He later stated that God would never send good people to Hell. I find it hard to believe that the majority believe this. I would like to know what you guys here think.:wave::pray::prayer::confused:

My quick answer would be Christians are going to heaven. That being said, I'm not sure how I would classify children or others who are unaccountable - I think they go to heaven, but I don't know if I should call them Christians. Another group I don't know what to call are those who came before Jesus.

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if a majority of folks who identify themselves as Christians held the view you described.

I know if I am merciful, I will receive mercy. If I don't forgive my brethren, how will I be forgiven? Christ said to turn the other cheek, so why should I vex those who might be wrong? Instead pray that those who vex, may be vexed, and that those who slapped you on one cheek, for you casting your pearls, to help them understand. Most troubled are insecure, so pray for their comforting, ask God, to guide the wrong, into righteousness. In the end, those who will never admit their wrongs, will be sent to the lake.

If our own morality could save us then we obviously wouldn't need Christ. I think anyone who teaches anything outside of Christ as the ONLY way is speaking false teachings and should be confronted in love to correct them, or outed as wolves.

Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 There is only one exception. Paul wrote that those who had never heard of the Law or Gospels when they do what is right are excused.
Romans 2:13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. 14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them

Unless someone who has heard the Gospel accepts Jesus as their Savior there is no other way to be saved. For those who have never heard the Gospel I leave that to God's discretion.

"Why do you call me [Jesus] 'good'? No one is good except God alone."

Sounds like that "minister" is wrapped up in an ever-popular heresy.

First stop watching TV. It is hellivision. The "Christian" channels on TV have all been compromised with false doctrines and false teachers.

No truth comes out of TV.

Prove all things with scripture, not the "majority". Get yourself an authorized copy of the King James Bible and trust it. It is God's word preserved.

The "majority" believe in Evolution.

Rom 10:6-7 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

He is the righteousness, Christ in us that speaks and He says say not.

“The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."
- Luke 12:47-48

It sounds like God would be more lenient with people who never knew the Gospel. This makes sense; God represents equity and justice, and this would stand to reason.

I would not place any hope in not knowing the truth. Jesus said my people die from a lack of knowledge.

I wouldn't place any hope in that, either. Keep in mind that I'm referring specifically to people who don't even know that they don't know; the proverbial "kid raised by wolves in the forest" scenario.

Majority of people that say they are Christians would probably hold to the view you described but good moral people will still need to be held accountable and if they are NOT saved then how can God allow good moral people into Heaven?

Even the most righteous man is no good. We need Jesus.

Amen brother Coup. I got that revelation some months ago and have liberated myself from torrents of false doctrine in staying away from so-called Christian tv.
