No honey, a baby will not go to hell. Neither will the mentally retarded who cannot grasp the concept of God and Jesus.True_KeN said:I know this question may get a lot of ambiguous answers and responses such as... there is no short answer to this question.
I assume that if someone believes and has faith in God and accepts God and accepts that Jesus Christ died for our sins then he will go to heaven and not hell. Are there any exceptions to this? If a baby dies will it go to hell? Can someone go to hell through ignorance of God? If someone is mentally retarded and cannot understand or apreciate the concept of God, will this person go to hell? I am not trying to debate the morality of any of these issues. I would just like as "clear cut" definition of who gets condemned to hell and who can go to heaven. I know ultimatey it is God's decision but what does the bible say on the matter and what are the commonly held beliefs in Christianity regarding what people are deserving of hell.
Thanks!!!

My answer is No, infants or anyone who doesn't have a chance to reject him willfully and understandably will go to hell. Only those who willfully reject him will go to hell.
Do you have any responsibility for your own salvation? the reason I ask is because of the statements you pose regarding "accepting" Jesus. Is this a decision that is up to you?squigui said:If you don't accept Jesus you don't accept heaven, because the only way into heaven is to live a sinfree life, and no mortal can do such thing. That's why Jesus died for us, so that our sins are invisible in Gods eyes, and we will get to heaven. Babies won't get to hell, because babies and small children are still innocent in Gods eyes. Like in the "left behind" series, where the authors imagined the Rapture, all the babies and children were raptured, because they weren't old enough to have made up their mind about God yet.
God bless
Did Jesus die for all people? If so, are the sins of all people invisible in God's eyes? If so, doesn't that mean that all people will go to Heaven? Or, are you actually contending that the efficacy of Christ's atonement is determined by whether we accept Christ?squigui said:That's why Jesus died for us, so that our sins are invisible in Gods eyes, and we will get to heaven.
No one is innocent in God's eyes apart from the imputation to them of the righteousness of Christ. The issue isn't whether anyone is born innocent. The issue is whether God does a blanket imputation of the righteousness of Christ to all children. The truth is, despite so many suppositions that He does, the Bible does not say so.Babies won't get to hell, because babies and small children are still innocent in Gods eyes.

I couldn't disagree with anything more completely than what you say above about free choice in the Spiritual realm. We have only one choice to reject God and go to that place of eternity without God. Only the Holy Spirit can guide us to a knowledge of eternal life with God. We don't do anything of our own will. Our will is subjugated and rendered useless in our ability to be saved.Emmy said:Dear Min Dach, you had many right replies.Whoever does not want to spend eternity with God,will go to the place without God(whatever some people call it).We have free choice. Those of us who cannot choose,God will know their hearts and He is a fair and righteous Judge. We can trust Him with all our hearts.Sincere greetings from Emmy,a sister in Christ.
Is Homosexuality a sin? How you answer this question will say a lot about what you believe about this. I believe it is a sin. Is it an unforgiveable sin? No. But to be forgiven of any sin whatsoever, one must repent of the sin they are guilty of committing. This means you stop sinning because you have been convicted by the Holy Spirit that what you are doing is sinful.CCS said:Do homosexuals go to hell too? I've heard many Christians say so, but I can't find any reference in the Testaments that say so.
As far as I can tell, in the New Testament, Jesus says nothing about homosexuals. Paul condemns them because he opposes all sexual activities, even within marriage (1 Corinthians 7:1, 5, 8-9, 29).
In the Old Testament God condemns homosexuality for his Chosen People, the Children of Israel (Leviticus 18:1-3, 22). They are to be fruitful and multiply until they become as numerous as the stars in the sky and occupy the land between the River Nile in Egypt and the River Euphrates in Iraq (Genesis 15:5, 18). God's prohibition of homosexuality applies only to the Hebrews, not to the Gentiles.
So, it seems to me, according to the Bible, if you are a Jew, you must not be gay and if you are a Christian, you must not just refrain from homosexual activities, you should not have sex at all - unless you are a weak individual who cannot practice self-control.
Am I missing something? Is there a passage in either testament which says non-Jewish homosexuals will go to Hell, or is this just another instance of the conservative sector misusing the Lords word for their own ends? If there is indeed not a word in the bible about non-Jewish homosexuals going to Hell, will those who misquote God go to Hell?
Thanks in advance. Im new to Christianity and want to get it correct.
