Who Do You Pray To?

Hello Everyone,

I'm asking this of the Charismatic Catholics. I already know the mainstream Catholic response.

I was born and raised Catholic but became a Protestant Christian at 30 after I read the Bible. But now, some 30 more years later, I am very displeased with the way Protestantism (in general) went. So I keep trying to come back to Catholicism and 1 thing keeps bothering me. I understand that Catholics say they don't pray to Mary, they only venerate her. I have nothing against this because she was the mother of our Lord Jesus. But if you take apart the Hail Mary prayer, they are praying to her. Maybe this is right and I just can't see it yet. But as per the Bible I pray to God. Hebrews makes it clear we can do this. So I'm wondering how Charismatic Catholics feel about this? Do you pray the rosary or do you usually spend time in contemplative prayer? If Charismatics don't pray to Mary, or other saints, I have to look for a church where there are Charismatic people. Just today I was watching EWTN. First they said a rosary, but then they prayed to the angel Michael. But in the Bible angels won't even allow humans to bow down to them. They insist they are servants of God just as we are.

Many Catholics pray to our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God Her Holy Rosary given as the most beautiful special Gift, Blessing and Grace from God The Most High OG.

The Holy Rosary was given by Jesus/God The Most High/The Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ our Saviour Himself to Saint Dominic - the Dominican Priest in the year 1246.

Then the Blessed Alan De La Roche by Jesus Himself appearing to this priest during the year 1460. Prior to this, it was entitled The Psalter of Jesus and Mary given by God The Most High as His Holy Blessing, Gift and Grace.

Blessed Alan De la Roche began this work of preaching The Holy Rosary for mankind to pray to our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God, after receiving a warning from our Lord Jesus Christ:

One day when he was saying Mass, our Lord, who wished to spur him on to preach The Holy Rosary, spoke to him in the Sacred Host:

"How can you crucify Me again so soon?" Jesus said.

"What did You say Lord?" asked Blessed Alan de la Roche.

"You crucified Me once before by your sins", answered Jesus, "and I would willingly be crucified again, rather than have My Father offended by the sins you used to commit. You are crucifying Me again now because you have all the learning and understanding you need to preach My Mother's Rosary, and you are not doing so. If you only did this you could teach many souls the right path and lead them away from sin - but you are not doing it and so you yourself are guilty of the sins that they commit".

This terrible reproach made Blessed Alan de la Roche solemnly resolve to preach The Holy Rosary unceasingly.

Our Lady Mary spoke to him one day to inspire him to preach The Holy Rosary more and more:

"You were a great sinner in your youth", She said, "but i obtained the Grace of your conversion from My Son. Had such a thing been possible, I would have liked to have gone through all kinds of suffering to save you, because converted sinners are a glory to Me. And i would have done this also to make you worthy of preaching My Rosary far and wide".

Our Heavenly Mother Mary states: "Glory to Me". God The Most High thanks our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God for the conversion of sinners Glorifying Her Holy Spirit as Jesus Christ our Saviour's Mother, "Mother of God" and our Heavenly Mother Mary.

This Glory is taken back to God The Most High with sinners converted, and all the Glory, from our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God given to God The Most High of Whom is flowing His Love, Holy Wisdom, Holy Spirit, Holy Guidance through our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God always, in the past, now and forever Eternally.

Saint Dominic appeared to the Blessed Alan De la Roche one day saying:

"See the wonderful results i have had through preaching The Holy Rosary! You and all those who Love Our Lady ought to do the same so that, by means of this holy practice of the Rosary, you may draw all people to the real science of the Virtues".

Our Lady has shown Her thorough approval of the Name Ros-a-ry; She had revealed to several people that each time they say a "Hail Mary", they are giving Her a beautiful Rose and that each complete Rosary makes Her a beautiful Crown of Roses.

The well known Jesuit, Brother Alphonsus Rodriguez used to say His Rosary with such fervour, that he often saw a red rose come out of his mouth at each "Our Father" and a White rose at each "Hail Mary". The red and white roses were equal in beauty and fragrance; the only difference being their colour.

Reference: Saint Simon De Montfort's older original book: "The Secret of The Rosary" of which Jesus and our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God gave me (among a few other Holy items) through an 83 year old man - a Catholic Acolyte whom our Blessed Virgin Mary led me to meet through my own (earth) Father last year.

Our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God was Hebrew and the Favoured One of God The Most High as Jesus is the only Begotten Son of our Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Goodbye Adam and Eve for eternity.

"Call upon My Mother often" - Jesus instructs my heart from time to time when Jesus and our Blessed Virgin Mary are speaking to my heart daily before, during and after heartfelt prayers - praying and talking to Jesus within His Divine Mercy Chaplet Prayer, The Our Father's, The Hail Mary's, The Holy Rosary, The Lord is My Shepherd, The Angelus, The Magnificat, Psalms proclaiming Jesus/God's Glory, The Holy Word/Bible, Prayers that Jesus gave mankind through Saint Faustina to pray, The Hail Holy Queen, and many other prayers for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, the conversion of sinners, for the sick and dying to be taken into Jesus' Abyss of Divine Mercy at the hour of their deaths, for our Blessed Virgin Mary's Holy Intentions.

All of these prayers are in effect being prayed to Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit because it is Jesus/God The Most High of Whom has given mankind His Prayers to pray through His Saints (priests, popes, ArchBishops, Sisters/Nuns, Children): - everything through our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God is through Jesus/God The Most High.

The Creed - at the commencement of The Holy Rosary which has been given by Jesus/God The Most High/The Holy Spirit through Jesus and our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God to Saint Dominic to preach (of which Saint Dominic did) to mankind.

If you look at the Prayers contained within The Holy Rosary, you will notice that we are praying to Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit at the same time we are praying to our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God (together):

"O God, Whose only Begotten Son, by His Life, Death and Resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech You, that meditating on these Mysteries of The Most Holy Rosary of The Blessed Virgin Mary, we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord, Amen" and;

"O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy Mercy, Amen" and;

"Glory be to The Father, and to The Son, and to The Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen".

One of God The Most High's Loving Holy Gifts to our Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God, is for mankind to beseech our Blessed Virgin Mary's Loving Holy Intercession with Jesus/God The Most High of which contain His Our Father Prayers throughout The Holy Rosary and His Hail Mary prayers that were delivered by Jesus Himself in Holiness to Saint Dominic.


Our Heavenly Mother Mary is assisting souls here on earth as we speak - of whom are totally oblivious - with Jesus Christ our Saviour - of Whom receives Mother Mary's Loving Holy beseeches on our behalf!

I attend Charismatic Masses OlderGuy although i prefer attending a good hour beforehand to adore Jesus in His Blessed Sacrament, His Holy Tabernacle, His Holy Cross, His bitter Passion suffered for all mankind, His Sorrowful Stations of His Cross, praying and talking to Jesus while praying for others, of which, Jesus has stated:

"The Prayer most pleasing to Me, is this prayer for the conversion of sinners. Know My Child, that this prayer will always be heard and answered".

+ Jesus' Divine Mercy Chaplet prayed at 3pm daily including all of the other Prayers that Jesus has given mankind through Saint Faustina.


If people choose to turn away or ignore the MOST beautiful Loving Holy Gift, Grace and Blessing of God The Most High's with The Holy Ros-a-ry - beautiful Roses that God The Most High gave our Blessed Virgin Mary - then I feel sad for people - because people have no idea about the Loving Holy Blessings, Gifts and Graces one is able to receive here, more importantly - how one is able to receive so many of Jesus/God/The Holy Spirits Loving Holy Blessings Gifts and Graces after passing over, through having set aside time - earthly time - praying The Holy Rosary and praying all of the other prayers including most importantly Jesus' Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3pm daily with complete trust in one's own heart to Jesus!

Turning to Jesus' Divine Mercy is paramount/priority repenting sins from our hearts in genuine remorse regularly, receiving Jesus/God/The Holy Spirits' Blessed Holy Sacraments of Love weekly and/or daily, while being loving, compassionate, merciful and kind, giving greatly to the poor, and obeying God's Commandments with prayers for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory to assist Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit, our Blessed Virgin Mary, the Holy Souls themselves and our souls eternally, through having given out to all causes through our heartfelt trusting prayers to Jesus for others.

"The measure of Mercy is the measure of Mercy given" Jesus stated in His Holy Word, and we all really do need to think, identify and action Love, Mercy and Compassion to all others while there is still time, which greatly includes prayers from our heart to Jesus for all others and world causes!

My understanding was for all 60 years I was a Roman Catholic and the 30 some years I was a Charismatic Catholic that the church's teaching was that we venerated Mary and that we considered her an intercessor. To pray to her as if she was God or equal to God was not what I thought was correct Catholic belief and doctrine. The rosary is mainly used to focus on the life of Christ and Mary and not to "pray to Mary". Many non-Catholics have this misconception about Mary. However, she is put very highly on a pedastal which did bother me. Also, in some cultures, she is venerated more than Christ. But the Mary of scripture is the one I honor. She said that all generations would call her blessed and I do call her blessed. She is such a wonderful model of humility and love. Why not...whether Protestant or Catholic..

Also I remember according to scriptures at the Wedding feast at Cana where Jesus turned the water into wine the stewards first approached his mother that they had run out of wine. And she said to them, "Do what He tells you." She was referring to Jesus. And that is what I think Mary wants us to do..what Jesus (God) tells us. Therefore, we can learn what he tells us from the Gospels and from our church.

I am also a Protestant albeit a charismatic one. God bless.

When I became a Born Again Christian in 1982 I expected people to be more pious than the average Catholic. But they weren't. I became born again over a 3 year process. But I changed and I continue to change. Sins almost make me nauseous, especially when Catholics and Christians use God's name in vain. That was the 1st thing I stopped. And it wasn't easy. But I did it. I found other ways to make people at work take me seriously. I'm not bragging. I'm just saying the conversion was real because that was 32 years ago and God is still super important to me.

I'm disgusted with Protestants because they believe their sins don't matter to God, even though the Bible says they do. I want to be Catholic again, but all the statues are not right, and most of them are Mary or saints. I'm lucky if I see even 1 statue of Jesus.

I feel lost in an evil world. I don't feel like I belong here. I'm 62 in poor health, I always was. I have no family at all, because I was never married. I refused to enter a sinful marriage. So I have no family. All I ever had was parents and they're both long dead. My savings are gone. I don't know why I'm here anymore.

If you haven't done that..just say a simple prayer and turn your heart and your life over to Him. If you have then do it again. You will not find perfection in the Catholic or the Protestant fold. Only God is perfect. But you will find a worshipful atmosphere, fellowship, and support. That exists in many churches. Churches are made up of people and people are not perfect. Your expectations are really very high as far as people are concerned. Do you really have that privilege?

I don't think that doctrine of the Catholics praying to Mary is really the issue here; but the condition of your own heart. 62, older guy, is young from the perspective of those of us who have already long been there! When you were born I was likely a sophomore in high school venturing into life in a non-Christian atmosphere. Through Godly influences of others and lots of love by folks not in my church I turned to Christ. I continue to turn to Him daily because Jesus IS the Truth, the Life, and the Way. But where do I find Him? Read the gospel of Matthew. That's a good jump start place.

If you read it before do it anew and this time with prayers. Trust that even you can be changed. If you let Him he will. And it is NOT too late. Expect less of people and more of God and you will receive more from both!!

I knew you were older than me. No offense but it's kinda nice. I'm usually the oldest person around. I live in a very ungodly area. I didn't always do so. But now I do.

I've done all the things you said more times than I can count. You should also remember, as I do, when shacking up was shameful. Stores were closed on Sunday etc. I blame my generation for wanting all the free sex, legal abortions, multiple marriages, etc. But it has all but destroyed our society. We weren't perfect, and we never will be, but sin is out of control. The average protestant church has misunderstood what St. Paul said. They think because their sins are forgiven when they accepted Jesus that they can sin to their hearts content. And very few people are telling them this is false. Since Catholics have to do a confession, even once is awhile, Catholics are more aware of sins. I think. But mainstream Catholics are too much into Mary and not enough into Jesus. If I had never studied the Bible I wouldn't know this. But I did study it. So I think I'd be more comfortable in a Charismatic Catholic group. If I can get to one. No car makes it hard.

On a more theological note, I find most traditional Catholic churches to be designed to promote a reverent worship of God, more so than the office building/ auditorium style buildings that a lot of people seem to favor in the U.S. If you have a true aversion to being around statues and stained glass then find a Catholic church that is newer and has less of this. My own church is very Spartan in this regards and yet the people bring the sense of reverence with them as they commune before the Lord's Table.

I love stained glass windows. I don't mind a few statures, especially if it's the adult Jesus. One Mary is fine, even 1 Joseph. I strongly object to the woman holding the baby because that's of pagan origins. I believe it goes back to the Babylon Mystery religion, and God almost totally destroyed ancient Israel because they kept sacrificing to this devil. Some ancient gods were nothing. Others were devils aka fallen angels. Those were the ones God hated the most. Today these same fallen angels are the so-called Space gods that many people believe created us, help us, and will save us. Let me point out that fallen angels always gave us knowledge of things the real God didn't want us to have. You may ask why not, if it makes life easier. I don't know for sure. My guess is this knowledge draws us away from the real God.

I'm amazed at how the Internet has allowed average people to voice their minds, but I'm disappointed to see how quick average people are to jump at what they're uncertain of, and they turn their backs on what we've known for thousands of years. Us older folk must speak out against this. Only we can.

I hope you can keep some means of connecting to the Internet. If you are near a decent library, some offer computer rooms that have Internet access. You are right. It is up to the older generation to maintain a sense of continuity to the past. After all we have had some experience in recent events (recent meaning last 50-60 years) and this gives us a perspective on the past that is rooted in practical, common sense knowledge that helps us to say "Fowl" when every new crackpot spouts a wild claim on the Internet.

I figured you could appreciate what I said because you're close to my age.
What worries me the most is how people accept the space god ideas. Technically speaking, our God is from some place other than Earth also. It's almost an insult to Him, but we could say God is an alien. If alien is defined as not of Earth. But people who believe in space gods imagine them as mortals who are super technically advanced, with lives of many thousands of years, and benevolent. All that is wrong. The alien who visit Earth are immortal, although they don't need the physical bodies they let us see and therefore can allow those bodies to die. This tricks most people. My conviction, after 40 years of wrestling with this, is all aliens are angels, Holy ones and evil ones. They both do what they've always done. The Holy angels do only what God has told them to do. The evil ones aka devils, try to ruin God's plans for mankind in every way possible. This includes abducting us, and doing we know not what to us. But it isn't anything good, because I've never heard of a person who was abducted and is happy about it. That includes Barney & Betty Hill the most famous of abductees. Moreover, the governments of Earth know aliens are real but can't tell us because they also know these Beings harm us, and we can't do a thing against them. All we can do is pray to God for protection. But if we had full government disclosure, we'd expect military resistance, which is just not possible. People will forget, they're immortal. We will never be able to harm them. Only God or the Holy angels can do that. But part of God's plan is to allow them a certain amount of freedom with us. If they try to go beyond that, the Holy ones then act to stop them. This is what I observed in the night sky during 1967. But I was 15 ad I didn't know what I was seeing. I didn't just see it once. I saw it most nights when there were no clouds. I never saw it again. But many other people saw similar things, including pilots, politicians, and even a few astronauts. But as far as I know, I'm the first to realize what this is. I've also never read anyone else saying this online. It must be time that God wants His people to know. Because I feel a burning desire to share this realization.

Even if I lose the Internet, I might be able to get online at a local Donut shop. But it's not the same as having it in my home.

Have you ever read about the visions in Fatima, Portugal in the early 1900's? These visions were first seen by three children. They told others in their village and nearly each month the visions continued for over 6 months. The final event was watched by over 500 people and they said that the Sun danced around in the sky. It is one of the few such visions that has been investigated by the Catholic church and declared a true miracle of God.

I heard of Fatima in 1994, pre Internet. I watched the movie at least 10 times, and finally purchased it. On VHS because DVD's weren't out yet. I also did a good deed one night and took a Mom and her 2 young daughters to a Charismatic Healing Mass. One girl was quite sick that night. While we were there, a woman who worked with the priest approached me. She said, Ever since you walked in God laid it on me to give you this. (it was a kind of ring I had never seen before) Things were hectic because the healing lines started going up, and I had to carry one child. So my mind was on what was happening. BUT, then the woman said to me, This is a rosary ring that was blessed by the Holy Mother in Medjugorje. In the confusion I heard Holy father, meaning the pope. I thought, that's nice, but I have to go carry a child. As I thought, I realized she said Holy Mother, meaning Mary the Mother of Jesus? Whoa, now that may be a big deal. I had never heard of Medjugorje. After the Mass ended I went to speak to the woman. She had indeed said Holy Mother, furthermore she now said Mary had appeared to her. I told her to keep the ring because it was special, but she insisted God wanted me to have it. I still do. But I don't pray the rosary, and I've read the Vatican has not approved Medjugorje. If I was wealthy I'd go there.

I was warming up to Mary and one night spent 3 hours reading about her appearances starting in old France. Way before Lourdes. As time goes on this apparition keeps making greater and greater claims about herself. Finally saying that we get salvation through her and her son. I can't accept that.

Something is obviously appearing and saying she's Mary. But I don't know what.

Again, did you read the post above about the guy and the angel named Sonja? That sounds all wrong. Angels aren't even supposed to have a gender. In these last 2 decades evil is growing stronger, and I believe the great apostasy has started. Some of the more reliable apparitions of Mary has her saying "the enemy has already infiltrated my son's church". That is for sure. Whether we define the church of Jesus as all of us believers, Catholic, or both Catholic and protestants, the devils are sneaking in every chance they get.

In these last 2 decades evil is growing stronger, and I believe the great apostasy has started. Some of the more reliable apparitions of Mary has her saying "the enemy has already infiltrated my son's church". That is for sure. Whether we define the church of Jesus as all of us believers, Catholic, or both Catholic and protestants, the devils are sneaking in every chance they get.

I couldn't find the post that you referenced. As far as angels, they have appeared as humans in the past. So I don't think that I would discount an angelic visitation based on the angel being seen as female.

The Catholic Church investigates many claims of apparations and visitations and has only approved of a few (if I remember right, 14) of thousands of such claims. The jury was out on Medjugorje until about a decade ago, when the priest that had been the first supposed contact that the children had after seeing their vision was found to be exploiting the popularity of the site to make money. This has tainted the authenticity of the children's claim. The "children" were also getting money for their part in the vision.

As far as the infiltration of the church, that is not a new problem. It goes back to Adam and Eve. The great deceiver is powerful and we humans are prone to being deceived. That is why I feel protected from some of these deceptions by the structure and authority of the Catholic Church. This provides guidance and slow and deliberate thought that counter-weights the emotion involved with us natural beings encounters with the supernatural, both good and evil.

Christ has given us his peace. It would be a great travesty if we were to let the Deceiver take that peace from us. So please walk in Christ's peace and do not be afraid. We are all in God's capable hands. Even when it seems like our faith is being assailed by many, it might just be part of the plan to separate the wheat from the chaff and to strengthen the church that Christ established.

That post about the supposed angel, along with my response to it, have been removed. You sound like a very sensible man. You would have questioned it. Trust me. For a moderator to remove it, what the guy said was beyond unorthodox. I won't discuss it because then this may get removed. I'll just say I don't blame the mods for removing it. A young person shouldn't read such nonsense. A kid might believe it.

Recently I have been educating myself on modern physics. Meaning black holes and string theory. While doing this I came upon an ancient lie that's all over U Tube in a new form. I wrote a lengthy rebuttal to it yesterday, but I fear this will go viral and I'm not sure of the best way to refute it. In 1990 a very close cousin, who was like a brother, heard this. He quit working which lead to him losing his wife, family, and everything he once had. In 1990 it was enshrouded in new age spirituality. But the lie goes back to Lucifer. If I had been created as Lucifer was, I'd be the happiest angel there was. He was the most beautiful of the angels, and he walked in the presence of the Almighty. But he wanted to be God. I believe part of that means he wanted to create reality with his thoughts. Only God can do that. To speak or think, and have something happen is an attribute only God possess. Psychologically, in us, it stems from being a baby. A baby wants something, cries, and Mommy brings it. We call this magical thinking and by age 3 most humans grew out of it. But some people still want it to be true. That opens a door for the devil. I have proof of how false this idea is. My cousin has been trying to do this 25 years. For the first 10 years he found gullible people to support him while he preached this idea. Since it does not work, everyone left him. He's also done some hallucinogenic drugs to help him believe it. But for the last 15 years he's lived off his aged mother. Today he's 62, his mom is 87, and he lives off her SS pension and Food Stamps. He still believes he can create reality with his thoughts. He is angry, full of hate, and he wishes for American society to end. I know he's scared where he will get money from when his mom is gone. He hasn't worked a day since 1989. He expects to prospect gold after society ends. He also expects to live off the land. He has never done this, nor has he fired a gun in 40 years. You can see how unrealistic his plans are. May God hold American society together.

Suddenly, this idea is all over U Tube, and it won't be long before it spreads. Maybe even to TV. Beware of this idea. They even claim physics supports the theory. It's another way the devils want to use to destroy lives and the family. Without the family mankind may become like animals. Satan would love this. If I was an author I'd quickly write a small book expanding on what I said here, and submit it for publication. All I can do is tell folks online to beware this theory. Be ready to refute it.

I found a local Catholic church I plan on going to Sunday. I've heard 1 priest and 1 deacon sound like they are Charismatic. I'm looking forward to this.

The response is on page 8 by 2ducklow. Maybe I'm wrong. I was forgetting that many Catholics believe things about angels that protestants don't. Actually, the friend I took to the healing mass was 1 of them. She had a friend who committed suicide. I know she was emotionally distraught. I really don't believe anyone who does that is in their right mind. So I am not making a judgement. But my friend was convinced her dead friend was often in her house protecting her from danger. I never said a word to her. But I doubt things like that even happen.

The older I get the more I realize how little I really know.

Thank you for a most well thought out answer. I've been researching the link you gave and where it lead to. The link started with a statement I doubt can be true.

I know you didn't write that. I wish whoever did write it didn't. After studying NT history, I don't see how the apostles could have prayed the Hail Mary. Firstly, I think she was still alive. Moreover, even if they did somehow say it, we wouldn't know of it.

However, your link lead me to research "Angelic Psalter" which lead to a very good video. It started with the account of 8 Jesuit priests who survived the atomic blast of Hiroshima even though they were about 1 mile from Ground Zero. Their church also survived (a pic was included) while all other buildings were flattened. They never even developed radiation poisoning. The reason given was that they prayed the rosary daily. This is a major miracle. I'd put it on the order of the parting of the Red Sea. That's Big! Here is a link to the video.

I have to tell you that I don't believe anything easily. I'm not a skeptic. I just want to be extremely sure of what I believe. This is what I mean. Due to a poor Catholic upbringing, I knew very little about God. I knew our sins can be forgiven because Jesus died for us, but little else. At 18 a personal tragedy caused me to chose my intellect over faith, and I stopped believing that God is real. At least I thought I did. But God was a topic I couldn't forget. Still, I considered our God a myth just like Zeus etc. At 26 I started seeing evidence that Satan is real. That was an intellectual problem. Our God and Satan are part of the same story. Now I had to consider that God is also real. But how? Read the Bible, but I didn't understand old English, and in 1977 I had no idea other translations existed. But it wasn't going to be just the Bible that convinced me. Very odd events occurred as I searched for a Bible I could understand. I may have bumped into 3 angels, in human form. The first 2 freaked me out. It was very brief, but these 2 people seemed to know I was struggling with the God issue. The 3rd one handed me a small copy of St. John's Gospel in the NIV which was brand new back then. I was thrilled that I understood it. I reluctantly started reading it on the train to work. I was sure I would prove it false. But I wound up ordering the whole NIV Bible. I still expected to prove it was nonsense. Then a minor miracle happened. The Bible became as if alive for me. Even the OT written so long ago, was giving me answers to questions of the day. It was uncanny. How could a book know what was on my mind and give me an answer? I then found out that's exactly the sort of thing the Holy Spirit does with the Bible is read by those who are being called. I still wasn't 100% convinced. I told God if He is really real, He had to prove it somehow. Oh Boy, God most certainly did. Next I learned God will go anywhere to get a person He wants. Almost terrified, I ran out of 1 place. God just kept proving His reality to me. The first 20 years after that were hard. But I no longer think anything can separate me from God anymore.

I became a Protestant but all they have done is prove to me very few practice what they claim they do. I seem to be acutely aware of hypocrisy when I see it. I wish I wasn't. But God made me, so He did this. He must have a reason for wanting me like this. I think it's becoming obvious too.

Back to Mary. She or God, is going to have to prove to me in someway, that I should pray to her. I need this because based on the Bible, which is sacred to me, praying to Mary and saints seems all wrong. Statues also seem all wrong. I consider them Graven Images which are prohibited in the 10 Commandments.

I have heard many scholarly priests and preachers say they wished they never read half the books they did. I understand that. Intellect can interfere with faith. But I'm convinced God needs smart believers as much as any other kind. Especially because we're going through a time of super bright atheists. Actually, I believe we're in a time where God wants all people everywhere, who know He is real, and live for Him to unite. God doesn't respect a person as the world does, and He doesn't respect one religion over another. God sees our hearts and souls. Quite a few Holy men have also realized this, since I rejoined God in 1980. It seems Pope Francis knows this too. Jesus Himself said He had more people in other places, and He had to bring them also. Eskimos, American Indians, Aztec Indians who live where almost no one else dares to go, all have a story of a Great White Spirit who spoke to their ancestors thousands of years ago. I think this was Jesus, based on what He said to them. Maybe we truly are in the latter end times. I feel God wants people of all nationalities, colors, creeds, and religions, who know there is only 1 real God to unite. The great apostasy has started. All of us who know this have to fight it with whatever gifts God gave us. One of mine is intellect.

The post by 2ducklow does seem strange. I try to just roll with people that post like that. It's almost like their in their own world. Maybe it's illusion or maybe some deeper psychosis or maybe something extraordinary is happening. I find that extraordinary things require extraordinary proof. Think about how many miracles Jesus performed just to show people his divine nature.

Usually I try to pull them back into the reality that we all must live in so that we can talk from a common perspective. If they cannot talk on that level, it's a good indication that the train has left the station. After all our Lord spoke many parables trying to put advanced concepts into common things that the people of the day could relate to. Would he leave us with a faith that is somehow only open to those who receive special visitations or knowledge? The neo-Gnostics are alive and well.
