There are many that believe that we are the BRIDE of CHRIST .

Your thoughts on John 3:29 ??

Reads , # ! He that hath the BRIDE is the BRIDEGROOM , so who are they ??

# 2 But who then is the FRIEND , of the BRIDEGROOM ??

# 3 Which standeth and heareth Him ??

# 4 In verse 30 , He must INCREASE , but I must DECREASE ??

# 4 And many should know who it IS ??

# 5 Is it speaking to those in the OLD COVENANT ??

# 6 Or speaking to those of the NEW COVENANT ??

Jesus is the bridegroom, John the b is his friend. john must decrease Jesus must increase it is about their relationship. The disciples of John had a dispute over Jesus men baptizing and John is updating them on their progression in the way of things.

I don’t think I have an application to those in the OC.
But to the new cov. Jesus must be our everything while we sacrifice our own ways for His ways. His way is greater, we must follow Him.

There is only one bridegroom, Jesus Christ.
The Bride is the church, all those who believe in Jesus Christ, including the OT saints
who believed in the promise (Seed, Ge 15:5, Jesus Christ, Gal 3:16).

That is John the Baptist, who is referring to himself.

John the Baptist is explaining that he is not the Messiah (bridegroom), he is only the friend who attends the bridegroom.

It is speaking of the Messiah, to those of the OC in Jesus' day, who should recognize the Messiah in Jesus of Nazareth.

Ekklesia is the "called out assembly" of God, of both the OT (Ac 7:38, Ro 11:23) and the NT.

I have yet to see a verse that says we are to follow the NEW COVENANT ?

I don’t think so. No verses about new covenant in Jesus blood’. Paul had the HS his life is how it works out for us to the details of having the HS. A map if you will, a successesful life that everybody knew was spirit filled. I guess if we were really godly we would be suffering persecution like him and casting out demons. I don’t think I have the power except to rebuke them in Jesus name and keep free of their harassment. Some people are starting churches though. We are to imitate our leaders too. Pastors.

All of Jesus and Paul is about the new covenant, not under like the law walking in with the Holy Spirit alongside.
jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Paul articulated it for the church. The church is the body of Christ, Paul is the embodiment of the Christian for the church. Paul is how to be a Christian and christs life and spirit gives eternal life. Christs teachings are the foundation and Paul is building on that.

persecuted Christian’s have a lot more faith and provisions and sufferings. It seem God attends to them oftentimes.

Pauls faith was tested brought out beyond his strength so that he depended on God so heavily. He had a different range of experiences to teach him. He heard from God about most of it. Are all those waiting on tables supposed to be like Steven? But I guess that was the first fruits. American laws are limiting persecution. But in Iran, or India, or China it’s different. Paul is not limiting how much one can imitate him. The two witnesses are coming the 144,000 witnesses are coming. Is the church dead? Is the HS not leading us the be like Paul anymore. Or are we closed be cause of weakness.

I have always felt like I should be like Paul, but the spirit does all it can in me. It’s sure not like that. Some great things have happened I changed, but I’m not as gifted.
