Too Many people followed our Lord Jesus Christ; and they were of different kinds and traits:
1. His disciples: who were they? they were those who believed in Him. They were those who gave up their lives, and their future, just to be with Him. They were those who answered His call for them to follow!
" And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him." (Matthew 9:9)
2. The Pharisees: who were they?they were those who did not believe. They were those who refused the truth, and insisted on taking the wrong road. They were those who refused to listen, and worse... they even persuaded themselves that they were right and everybody else was wrong.
3. The Multitudes: who were they? they were those who just followed whenever there was a crowed. They heard ...yes, but they did not listen to the teaching of the Lord. He healed their sick, and arose their dead. He gave them food whenever they were Hungry! Yet, Pity! And the Lord did pity them and said: "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." (Matthew 9:37-38)
The point here is, who are you in any of those? Do you believe and follow with your heart? Are you one of the Lord's disciples? Or Do you not believe and refuse the truth? or Do you follow whenever there is a crowd... hear but not listen?
