  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Who are some ministers I'll like?

I like Paul Washer, John Macarthur, Ian Paisley....looking for some other similar ones to listen too. Also what kind of preachers would you call these guys? Thank you :)

Hi 1peterlight, welcome to CF ..

I'm afraid I don't know the teachings of Washer and Paisley, but I am a big fan of MacArthur. If you like MacArthur, you'll probably also appreciate the teaching of these pastors/theologians as well:

Dr. R C Sproul - Theologian and now pastor of St. Andrews Church in Orlando. His radio broadcast (part of Ligonier Ministries) is called "Renewing Your Mind".

Dr. Chuck Swindoll - pastor and former head of Dallas Theological Seminary - His radio broadcast is called "Insight for Living".

Like MacArthur's "Grace To You" website, you can listen to Sproul's or Swindoll's daily broadcasts, or look for something else in their fairly extensive broadcast library archives.

p.s. - in case you are not only new to CF but are also fairly new to the Christian faith, here's a link to a great MacArthur series called "Spiritual Bootcamp" which will help get you a little more grounded in the Faith. It looks like the parts are free to listen to and/or read.
