Pretty simple, they passed a law requiring masks....unless you're a person of color, because racism.

Health officials announced last week residents must wear face coverings in public settings where they may come within six feet of another individual who is not from the same household.

But people of color do not have to follow the new rule if they have “heightened concerns about racial profiling and harassment” over wearing the masks, officials said

I think people make stuff up. I see black people wearing mask all the time. And so do most people , that are white , mixed, Mexican , Indian or blacks. . The only people I see not wearing mask Is blond hair people. Fighting for their fake right. I have no respect for this. Or this fake craziness. ,that white people or people are in denial, that are trying to push this no mask.Every one should wear a mask. If they don't .I see them as stupid. This might get me banned. I don't care . Wear the mask. Get a brain. No excesses. See you in a month. I guess.

A reasonable exemption. As CCW pointed out, black people are frequently seen wearing masks--that's the case where I live too. But there have been incidents, and for some black men in some situations, wearing a mask in public is an invitation to harassment.

The idea of masks (which is not necessarily a good one) is to protect health. If it is a good idea, then it is appropriate for all. If it's not a good idea, then don't impose it on anyone. I realise that logic and reason have long been sacrificed on the PC altar, but this mask issue sounds like something out of a Monty Python script.

The one tiny flaw in the argument is that masks are mostly useless. They may stop a sufferer spreading the virus, if the mask is properly fitted and of the right type. Or those with the virus could just isolate themselves temporarily and not spread the virus that way.

Yes, it does. It's too bad that black men in masks aren't always treated the same way as white men in masks, else the issue would never come up. But it doesn't sound like a serious problem, anyway. I don't know what the order exactly says where I live, but just from my observation black men and white men appear to be wearing masks about the same rate.
