Is anybody else really, really looking forward to this? I saw the trailer last night and it knocked me for six. Someone's finally made a film about this fascinating phenomenon (I know it was touched on in 'The Sixth Sense' but I hope this is different). I'm counting the days till the 7 January.

I didn't catch the "based on true events" tag, but I am guessing that what they mean is it is based on real life phenomenon. Kinda like when Mothman Prophecies came out they said based on real events because people have claimed to see the Mothman before someone dies... btw, Mothman Prophecy because it sucks.

lol wow i was just about to start a thread on white noise too...it looks really good and scary....k im wondering tho it said it was based on a true incident...what are they talking about?
I haven't heard either that it was based on a single true incident, per se, but I have read a lot about people who supposedly thought lost loved ones were contacting them through EVP. It looks like the film's a sort of cautionary tale, though, against dabbling in these things. Yet its official website has details on how to capture your own EVPs! Hmm. If I did it and heard something, I'd die of fright, lol. Still interesting, though.

wow, I will have to check out how to capture your own EVP... a girl I went to high school with showed me a picture that she took that has her grandpa and grandma sitting on a couch, the only thing is that her grandpa had died before the pciture was taken and he was transparent in the picture.... it was pretty creepy.

Wow! I'm usually inclined to think that ghost pics showing actually human figures are fakes (really easy to create) but occasionally you see one that can't be explained away. Intriguing.

I usually am quit to point out why I think things are hoaxes too, but this was before the age of photoshop and it was an older picture... truely very creepy and I have no idea how you create one person transparent and nothing else in the picture.... I also had no reason not to believe the girl.

u dont need photoshop to do that. i'm not quite sure how it does it... but one time we had this disposable camera. we had it for a long time before we got the film developed there was one picture that had us and a transparent figure of our cat was in the corner. our cat had recently died. well it turned out that we had taken a picture of him in one of the earlier pictures and it had been transferred onto one taken later.

At the beginning of the preview it says "what you are about to hear is real.. blah blah.." Then it plays EVP's.. Ruth Baxter - "I will love you no more" -Recorded in 2001? She died in the 80's

The movie itself really has nothing to do with anything.. Just fake EVPS about some dude who talks to his dead wife and supposly comes in contact with other people, that then haunt him and what not.

I don't know what else was on the roll, but I strongly doubt it was a transfer becaue he would to have been sitting at the exact same perspective that the picture was taken.
