As the renewal of my Marian Consecration, for the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows approaches, I often spend the last stretch reconciling with people I've had issues with. While I do have a few plans for reconciling with people on here, I also thought of setting up this poll, in which I ask people here, which vice I should work on overcoming? I will try to do at least, a novena, but hopefully more, although I'm not sure, as I'll college again soon, and so will have limited time.

So which vice do you think I should work on overcoming?

I voted other. As difficult as it is, I think your vice is fear. God knows your desire to follow Him. Your mistakes or reactions to others will not make or break you. He knows you want to follow and do right by Him. He is your rock and your foundation when you fail. As Paul said, you are running a race. It may not be perfect. The point is, even when you fall or are tempted, you brush yourself off and continue to run. God bless you!

Other: "Bitterness"... That would take care of them all...

(Acts 8:23, Romans 3:14, Ephesians 4:31, Hebrews 12:15) (And in that order...)

God Bless!

Somebody told me "each of us should work on the vice which the Devil targets the most".
It is pride for many of us, but I'm not sure about you, JLOL.

St. Francis whipped his donkey--his body--constantly to make it submit to his will. That's the best advice we are given in Scripture and with the saints regarding overcoming vice. My wife and I recently cut out the midday meal altogether, and now eat only every 12 hours, and regular sized meals at that. The results already are excellent in regard to the various vices that we are commonly assailed with--unchaste thoughts, anger, etc.

I'll not answer your question cause then I'll see the splinter in my brothers eye while missing the plank in my own.

I'll pray for you however as I do to all brethren.

I am leaning in favour of this. I do struggle a lot with worldly fear, but I also struggle a lot with fear of failing, of falling short, of not being the Saint God calling me to be. So I am leaning in favour of overcoming all fear, of having only a filial fear of the Lord, having a of offending the Lord, not because it makes me such a horrible person, but because God is so good and worthy of all my Love.

So that's what I'm leaning in favour of, but keep voting and giving me advice everyone!

Be open to God in prayer, for it is through His transforming grace, that we change to become the person God had in mind when He created us.

Detachment from ego driven agenda's becomes necessary, but again, being open to God is the only way.

Perhaps you should look at learning contemplative prayer as your life practice ?

Either way, pray for God's guidance.

As I mentioned in another a thread, I have a huge selection of books, and a long list of books I hope to read. I was originally going to post another poll, like this one, in which I ask everyone here, which book I should read next? However, I've decided to pick, St. Faustina's Diary Divine Mercy in My Soul as my next book to read, and try and deepen my devotion to the Divine Mercy.

This poll is still open, and everyone is more than welcome to vote and give suggestions. I'd like to hear from anyone who has a devotion to the Divine Mercy.
