Which study Bible?

Hi, I'm a huge fan of the KJV Bible and am looking for help understanding it better than I can on my own. For example, I'd like to know how scholars interpret the verses, since the content is from a society, culture, and language 2000+ years old.

I've been reading reviews of various study Bibles and the NKJV Study Bible caught my eye. I'm hoping to avoid endless essays about the nuance of every second word. Also, is a study Bible the right source to get such interpretations?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have found the KJV to be the more dependable Word of God for man, The NKJV is fairly good for general comparison for easy reading, but I use the Old Scofield Edition of KJV as a Study Bible. It does not change the text of the venerable KJV, but adds footnotes and commentaries to show meanings and why certain words need to be changed, where the translators of the original version made some errs (there are errors in all efforts by men).

See 2 Thessalonians 2:2 which needs to be read as "Day of the Lord", which is the time of the wrath of God on the earth. We see 1 Thess. speaks of the "Day of Christ" ---a time of blessings for saints, and 2 Thess. speaks of the "Day of the Lord" which is judgment on this world.

Well, keep reading the Word, brother.

He probably gave His Reason Why , in Scripture.
in line with also
"no man can receive anything, unless the Father in heaven grants it" ...

Thank you, 1watchman. I found the Liberty University KJV Study Bible 2nd Ed. (ebook). It's loaded with hyperlinks to additional information about the people, geography, verses, and Jesus's words appear in red.

Interesting take. Dispensationalism is a modern reaction to German liberalism. It's a modern theology heavily influenced by a rationalistic understanding of the Bible. I have the Bullinger Bible btw. Text is tiny. The Greek work is solid just not his conclusions.

I grew up in a church that only used the KJV. Currently, I am a member of a church that uses the ESV. When I read on my own, I prefer using the KJV, but during my daily exercise, I listen to the NLT version.
