  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, In my humble opinion...
The Marines are bullet sponges and are sent in to do the dirty work.
The (Ch)Air Force has it relative easy because they have shorter but very important missions, but very clean and modern facilities.
The Navy gets stuck on a ship all the time.
And the Army does a lot of physically difficult boring work.

I'm in the Army now, but I think I would choose the Airforce if I did it all over again.

My husband loves, absolutely LOVES, being a Marine. He would never dream of being anything else. Me though, I would join the Navy if I ever served, simply because from what I have seen, they have a lot more opportunities for women, and they have a great medical training program. The Navy is the force we are encouraging our daughter to join if she decides to join. Just my own opinion though.

Does this mean you have enlisted as you have planned? :)
Not yet, because I got sick back in Jan/Feb I have to wait 6 months for me to be able to try again.

Fixed the boo boo I made ;)...sorry about that.

Oh no :(

What happened? How did that affect you Enlistment?
I had developed pneumonia in my lungs, and they want to take precautions before I set out for South Carolina...or it will be their butt.

if you could serve in any branch of service, which would it be

The Navy of course! I love naval aviation.

I am still thinking of which branch to join, but so far

(on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most likely i'll join this particular branch[as an aviatior/pilot]):

1) Navy 9.5
2) Marines 8.5
3) Air force 7
4) Army 4

I am currently on active duty in the Air Force. I am very happy here because the AF treats its people the best, has the best facilities and accomplishes many vitally important missions. The other services have their own positive aspects, but I think I chose the best service (for me).

I was actually is every single ROTC while in college. I was in Navy for my 1st year. I was serious about the Navy but I realized I wanted a more normal life (like when I start to have a family). I have poor vision so I couldn't be a pilot and SWO or subs just didn't sound so hot.

Then I switched to the Army, but I was really surprised at the way I was treated. I was considering joining their service and I was treated like I didn't exist. Needless to say I was very unimpressed with the Army.

Finally, I went to see the Air Force. I was impressed by the professionalism and that I was treated like a human being. I liked the fact that the AF treats its people the best, has the best facilities, does a lot of cool missions that dont involve crwling through the mud (unless your into that kinda thing).

Please note that this was my experience in college and is mearly my humble opinion. I truely respect and admire the other services and mean no offence.

that was very interesting crusader
what exactly do you do in the airforce

Right now I am training to be an intelligence officer. I am hoping to go overseas to either work for an F-15 squadron or do signals intelligence collection on the RC-135 Rivet Joint.

I'll stick to the Marines...I have my reasons ;)

The V-22 Osprey is in full production now. I think the marines ordered around 250-300 Ospreys. I may join the Marines just to fly an Osprey ;).
