Which one of you tends to keep the other waiting?

The stereotype is that the man is always waiting for the woman to get ready to go anywhere. Brad Paisley even wrote a song about it. “Waitin’ On a Woman.” It was certainly true in my husband’s first marriage. His ex made him late for everything. They even missed airline flights. The only way they could have a chance to be on time was if he told her they needed to be there an hour earlier than they actually did. Then when they got there on time instead of late, she’d get mad because he tricked her.

I don’t want to be that stereotype. So when we need to go somewhere, I don’t waste time getting ready to go. It takes me ten minutes or less.

Then I end up sitting there waiting while HE gets ready. Granted we typically aren’t late, but sometimes we are out the door at the last possible minute. And I don’t like that very much. Sometimes it’s a matter of we’re both fiddling around waiting for the other, and neither realizes the other is ready to go already, but even when I tell him I’m ready, I still end up waiting.

Mine is more timing. " Let's leave at 9:30 am" ...I say.." I'll be ready at 10am". Then there it goes....

My household is the stereotypical. My wife always makes me wait, of course her whole family seems to be the last minute types. So maybe it's her upbringing, not her gender.
