Exodus 26:35 And thou shalt set the table without the veil, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

Yet I have seen diagrams of the holy place with the placement of the candlestick on the opposite side of the room...what gives?

I have a feeling that "against" is one of those words that got skewed in translation..... it well could mean "across from" as in "in opposition to" - remember it always "looses something in the translation." LOL

The passage clearly states "...set... the candlestick...on the side of the tabernacle toward the south...... and the table on the north."

I think it is interesting that when the articles are moved the table with the bread is the only one that is covered with red. Hmmm...
