  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

my plan is to do two sections a week (never more than one chapter a week) I will be encouraging everyone to do at least one soap a week. Soap is explained in other threads in deeper fellowship. There will not be any requirements!! everyone is free to comment or not as they feel led and everyone is free to do a soap or not as led. i am really open for any suggestions you might have!

I think this would be excellent.. and I have voted for John, because though I am interested in Acts. John comes first in the bible.. and it is the first book in the NT where I started to get a bit lost. Matthew Mark and Luke were no problem.. but John lost me many places.

it may look like i'm the leader but i want everyone to feel freee to make any comments they want. and if you feel i am not doing a good job please tell me. I am here to study whatever book we choose with you

My only hope is that this study will be more fruitful that the thousands of Bible Studies currently being conducted. Most have forgotten that the Bible is a story about the Creator. This means that a Bible Study is more than what a particular book is about but what that book tells us about the Creator.

I voted for Acts...seems many are in favor of that book. We will get to see how the Holy Spirit first was poured upon the church and how the believers related to Him. It is a wonderful book...not to difficult to start an online study.

I am glad we have a leader or moderator Lonnie...you will help hold us all together.

first and before anything else THANK YOU!!!
As part of a "body and soul" 40 day effort I had begun studying the book of Mark on another board. We had agreed to read and comment on a chapter a day, beginning on Monday Sep.26th. three days into the study the originator dropped out. the fourth day the other person dropped out. but I had promised God that I would do this, so i carried on by myself for several days, waiting to see what would happen.
Today I found your post offering a bible study and there in the options was the book of Mark. GOD IS GOOD!!! i picked the book of Mark in the poll.

I have also signed up for a 6 week course at my church to study the book of John. that will begin on the 16th.

Hi there Lonnie,

Thanks for the invite! I'm in too.

Any of the books would be fine with me. Although, I would prefer something other than Psalms because, as you would know, in the Liturgy of the Hours we pray the Psalms everyday, so a bit of a change in focus would be cool.

See you Monday!
Sacha
