• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

"Medicaid is not expensive....the high cost of the program is due to the fact that too many Americans are poor."

‘Medicaid Is Not Too Expensive; People Are Too Poor,’ Democrat Congressman Says | CNSnews.com

Should we laugh ourselves silly over this or cry over it until we are sick to our stomachs??

Well we already know these people have lost touch with reality and their plantation mentality keeps the poor right where they want them, poor. So what can we expect from them? Even when they say something that doesn't even makes sense to reasonable people they believe it is perfectly sane and reasonable when it clearly is not. How can we get them to come back to reality? I wish I knew.

My brother sliced his hand open last night. After they stitched him up at the ER and gave him a tetanus shot, they presented him with a $1000 bill that he is faced with paying. He is a college student and if he doesn't get Medicaid to help him (which will reduce the bill to about $200) he will be pretty screwed.

This as much a commentary on Medicaid as it is on inflated hospital bills.

If evidence is given that he can not pay they will make an adjustment. It may take a bit of work but as long as he does not have the income to support such a payment they will adjust it accordingly, or even write it off completely. It depends on how much income he has.

He doesn't have a job, but is actively searching, so hopefully that will be taken into account.

I'm still wondering how they managed to charge a grand for three stitches.

Right after my wife moved here she had a major heart attack. She had to have surgery and was in the hospital for 3 days and one day of surgery. A total of 4 days was $35,000. She did not have insurance and we certainly could not afford to pay for that so she contested it and they wrote much of it off. We ended up with a 5000 dollar bill to pay, which was still tough but not as bad as the 35,000. If he contests it and can prove his case he should be fine.
