  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Where's your passion?

Just wondering. Where do you find your passion these days? Where does your passion come from and what do you have a passion for?

I mean, the kind of passion that lifts your life above the mundane, routine, small stuff. The kind of passion that keeps you from thinking that finding a sale on frozen dinners is the height of excitement. ;)

I'm on autopilot right now. I served on church council, led adult classes, taught Sunday School, counted offerings, helped with Alpha dinners, and attended the singles group (at different times). But my volunteerism ran out. I'm not doing anything but going to Saturday night or Sunday service.

In the secular realm, it's too early to plant my garden plot yet, too cold for swimming and biking and all the snow is gone so I can't x-country ski. I do enjoy the ballroom dance lessons that I started taking about three months ago though.

Work pays the morgage.

Maybe it's time for some soul-searching...

(BTW, Trader Joe's has some *really* good frozen dinners!)

those rare chances when I get a chance to watch the Vancouver Canucks play hockey (unless they lose, of course! lol)

thoughts of a possible vacation REALLY lift my spirits (as long as I don't think about the fact that I can't really afford one)

2-hour prayer sessions make me feel pretty good too

anytime i make progress with cleaning out the flower beds in my yard (especially if I manage to NOT get poison ivy in the process!)

thanks for bringing us back on topic, Soda. ^_^ I was getting hungry!

My passion from God. Using the passion He gave me for teens, I work with several different groups of young athletes (ok, so maybe fishing is NOT an athletic activity. . . *giggle* but the way the kids get excited I think it DOES qualify!) and they inspire, motivate, and light me up.

My passion?
Caring.
In any way possible!
Wether that be in the shape of doing something nice for my parents, surprising a hurting friend with a gift, spending time with elderly who don't often get visitors, and I could go on forever with things I lvoe to do.

Bassically I'm a big teddy bear!
And I enjoy every minute of it!
