Is God among us as we gather online?
Yes, God is among us as we gather on line because He is omnipresent, and with the saints according to such verses as Hebrews 13:5 and Psalms 145:18. I would not use the commonly used Matthew 18:20 for this concept, unless it is in the context of church discipline, and I do not consider Christian social media as a church, or the church. Matthew 18:20 has to do with church discipline, binding and loosing, (taking away freedom to fellowship with the church, and restoring same) and calling 2 or 3 witnesses, and where 2 or 3 witnesses are in agreement on church discipline, so will the Lord be there in agreement with them.

Yes, i have heard the argument about the context of Matthew 18:20. I wished i wouldn't have used that verse. However, isnt it true that even when no discipline is needed, that the Lord is still among those who gather in His name?

Absolutely, and that is why I gave the other verses. Sometimes Christians say things that are true, but they use the wrong verses to back them up. Sometimes they also cite a verse and then say something that is true...but that is not what the verse they cited is really talking about. We need to know the differences and know what each verse is really speaking about in context.

Well, if anything my mistake is a testament to the value of online fellowship. I have been corrected. Praise the Lord for online fellowship. Funny how that worked out.

I totally agree, and am glad that you are open to being corrected, and not offended. Wise men will take correction, but not fools. That is found in Proverbs, but I don't have that verse memorized so can't give you the address right off. Maybe someone can look that up and post it here.

Well, i am guilty of being foolish at times. However that Proverbs scripture is exactly what teaches me to be humble and open minded. Im not wise, but i follow wisdom, the best i can anyway. The proverbs have blessed me greatly.

Is God among us as we gather online?

No. Unfortunately there is no God present online. God can only be seen and heard from in person, or in private. The internet is a very dangerous place. On the internet you can be whoever you want. A wolf dressed in sheep's clothing and begin infiltrating the flock. All of our personal information is linked back to us. Every word you have ever "said" online can be traced back. (Read the book of Matthew Chapter 10; specifically Matthew 10:16-20)

I can extrapolate more on this subject if needed.

What are doing online then?
Understood.

[Addendum]
Understanding a healthy fear of the Lord, trusting in my Guardian Angel, stitching up the fragments of time, learning how to communicate with my family, reading my Bible, and hopefully being an example of how communication can be cryptic. There are two sides to every coin, and I pray I stay on the right side of the fence.

Would you mind elaborating on your post about God not being online?

Thank you kindly.
W2L posted an ambiguous question. What you as the reader are not able to discern is the intent. You did not physically have contact with the individual, therefore are being more trusting than you should be.

When communicating with members of the community you are supposed to hold eye contact. Men will speak in lower baritone voices when being honest, women will speak very fast and in a high pitched tone. Men communicate metaphorically, (most of the time using sports metaphors or analogies) women communicate by using very precise and professional language. Women (who have been raised right.) will ask yes or no questions to discern intent. This will establish a system of trust. When men speak in higher pitched tones of voice, emotional manipulation may be present. This becomes a power struggle, and if you think in terms of the Bible, a king will always want subjects. If you are the victim of emotional manipulation by a male he (the manipulator) may refer to you as a pet. "Pup, kiddo, etc" or may use attention seeking behavior of playing a game of "guess what." If you were to present an answer that was not in line with your marching orders the person may attempt to "turn the light down," on your psyche. That is called gas-lighting. Other members of the community call it "intimidation or threats." The Bible is the gateway to your imagination, it maps out where we have been as a culture and where we are going.

I.P. addresses can always be traced. Internet users are leaving physical evidence of where they are, where they have been, and where statistics indicate where they are going.

Life is a game, there is a huge joke that can come from it. It all comes back to the question, "How well can you keep your mouth shut?"
