Where to worship on Shabbat ideally?

Where would you ideally worship?

  • Messianic Congregation -> Messiah must be included and I wouldn't go where he's not honored

  • Orthodox Synagouge -> Messiah is there and honored (in Torah). Why seperate?

  • A Church that recognizes Jewish Roots -> Christianity just needs to be 'perfected'

  • None -> Explain your answer.

If you had your choice... if any of the following were available right next door... where would you ideally worship?

*Messianic Congregation -> Messiah must be included and I wouldn't go where he's not honored. He must explicitly be mentioned in my worship service.

*Orthodox Synagouge -> Messiah is there and honored (in Torah). Why seperate? The early believers worshipped this way, and I see no problem with it either.

*A Church that recognizes Jewish Roots -> Christianity just needs to be 'perfected'. We need to honor the festivals and sabbath, etc... but christianity is what G-d wants.

*None of the Above -> Explain your answer.

Shalom,
Yafet.

What "flavor" MJ? If not Orthodox shul or at least a shul with an activately committed and aggressive growth toward Orthodox - no.

If no orthodox MJ, yes. He is also honored and mentioned repeatedly in the Siddur/liturgical prayers.

Don't agree with the last statement, so no. Most of the Christianity I have seen in the last 25 years is far from "what G-d wants" IMHO.

I voted none!

If we lived in the same country or in the same area, I'd have you come to my shul and celebrate the shabbat with me, so we could get you back on the right track and away from this mezziedom  and feed you some good food :yum:

But, on a more serious side, worshiping in a shul isn't really required outside of High Holiday. Hisbodius on Saturday instead :)

In all honesty, I am greatly honored by what you have said. It means much to me achi. I'm very flattered.

I actually do attend a synagouge currently, and I doubt I would ever worship in a messianic congregation.... purely for personal convictions.

*** On a side note, Yatziv, I wish you would enable "pm" (private messages) so that I could ask (or tell you) a few things personally that I'd rather not post in a public manner.*** But that's my desire. Please do as you wish and as you feel comfortable.

You may aslo email me at: simchat_torah@theroms.zzn.com if you prefer.

Shalom and shalom achi.

p.s. to all:

The "messianic congregation" option does not specify exactly what type of messianic congregation, so it is understood to be a 'TYPICAL' Messianic congregation.... like something you would find with the UMJC or MJAA, etc.

I did not specify becase as many MJ congregations that exist, there are as many flavors of MJ expressions. So I intentionally didn't qualify it with a specific flavor.

Maybe that will help decide your vote.

Shalom,
yafet.

I would have to say Messianic for now because Torah is taught as well as Yahshua Ha Moshiach as well. Yet I remember a scripture that Yahshua was stating that we should listen and do what the Pharisee says and not what he does.
For in my eyes of study I see on the Christian side - Lack of Torah AND on the Jewish side too much added Fence laws to the Original Torah. If in fact the Jewish Teachers have corrected this then I would say I would go to a Jewish Synogogue. Believe it there is such a thing as being too legalistic, that is why Yahshua taught as He did. I do believe we can learn more from the Jewish perspective then from the Christian perspective of what Yahshua Ha Moshiach was teaching. So tell me why has YHVH kept the Jewish Nation from building a new Temple? If in fact the dividing curtian wasn't split when Yahshua Ha Moshiach was crucified, which it was according to scripture in the B'rit Khadashah. If one is supposed to abide by even the Sacrifical laws. How can one be atoned for their sins if no sacrifice is done? I tell you the Sacrifical lamb for all mankind that accepts has been done already. Yahshua Ha Moshiach is our sacrifice for our sins and also our High Priest who stands as Mediator between Man and YHVH.
I reckon there are many in these last days who are being called out of every corner of Religion to the Truth. That truth comes by way of Judaism and not by way of Gentiles who don't understand Torah. Yet if those on the side of Judaism don't know how their sins are atoned then what must they do? Seek first the Kingdom of YHVH and all HIS Righteousness and all these things will be added to you.
I do believe that the Messianic Judaism realm needs to have a guide to know what is expected by those from the Hebrew realm who grew up in what was given to Israel by YHVH. Yet until they accept those into the Country of Israel, that believe in Yahshua Ha Moshiach, to live, I don't see many going to a Jewish Synogogue. I do hear that Israel of today might just have to accept Jews who believe in Yahshua into the country to bring up the population.

Shabbat Shalom,
