-Where is your safety line?

Since when has age made certain things acceptable? Does age really make an inappropriate movie acceptable? Does age make swearing acceptable? If age does make things like this acceptable, then why isn't there an age to kill? Or an age to steal a money? They're all sins right? Well those are different though!.... Thats exactly it the point... Watching an inappropriate movie and swearing is wrong... No matter how old you are, where you are, who's around, or anything like that... Its a sin! Age doesn't give you a license to do what you want and not have it be a sin. You still need to set standards and find whats morally correct! God wants us to limit what we let ourselves see, watch, and listen to... He wants us to draw a line at whats wrong and stay away from it. If we stay far enough away from it, we wont be tempted. If we hang out near that line though, we are bound to be tempted. Crossing that line and going where we know we shouldn't be... I have heard too many people saying, "your too young for this kind of stuff" to someone a little younger... Does age make things morally right? Of course not... Age is but a number....... This is just something i have noticed in my life that God has shown me... I feel like God wanted me to share this... Have a blessed day.

Words don't have magical powers... hearing curse words won't turn you into a satanist...

Seeing violence and sex surely won't adversely affect you since it's all over the Bible.

If you can endure all the genocide, rape, incest, and harsh language in the bible, then I think you'll be ok with watching movies today.

Except in the bible all of that is intended to help guide us in our own lives... I know that some people are able to be around people who swear a lot, and able to watch some movies without it affecting them as a follower of Jesus Christ. But its still healthy to put a limit on all of that... If there is no limit, it will build up over time and change what you see as morally correct. I believe God is the one that needs to be consulted on what should be allowed in your own life... There are obviously sins that no matter what shouldn't be done, but after that, prayer and seeking the Lord for answers is needed. (Example) I have a really close friend that is into a lot of bad stuff swears up a storm, and is just a lost person... But God gas given me the strength to keep my guards up to as to what i let in. And i haven't been changed by him, which allows me to change him (HOPEFULLY lol)... Have a nice day! God bless! :)

Personally i listen to Christian music almost completely... Except for like soldier boy or a few songs like that... (nothing with swearing or vulgarness AT ALL)... But I totally disagree with what some people say as to which Christian music should be... I have heard people say that Christian hip hop, rap, screamo, and rock are not acceptable as "Christian" music... They say that the only type of Christian music there should be is praise and gospel. I could not disagree with them more. For example, I am into hard rack and rap music, like Write this down, Red, Skillet, Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashi, ect ect lol... Christian music is music with a message! No matter what type of music, as long as God is the center, its Christian! As far as secular music, i myself haven't let myself even get into it... I used to find the clean version of songs, but found myself still getting caught up in the secular world. Then, I found Christianrock.net! My life has been changed ever since! The wide rang of Christian music will fill the hunger for solid hang banging people! And it sure did me! It also has a link to the hip how, metal, and powerpraise sites! I am in love with music, i play guitar, bass, and play drums, and I thank God for Christian bands that play for Jesus, and still are very talented and know how make amazing music. Sorry, i got a little carried away! Hopefully i answered your question have a blessed day!

Haha ABR fans unite! Lol I switch between the two till a find a song i like haha. And Yup, in level of my skill with each it goes Drums being my best, guitar, then bass being my worst lol But bass is wicked wicked easy if you already know guitar! And for me it was EVEN easier, because im a drummer. So i had the beat and tempo down already. I taught myself all three of those instruments, with the help of youtube how-to videos, and just basic music knowledge. I play drums at my church, and also electric guitar with an RP80 effect pedal :D I such a music addict lol When im bored i either make a drum cover, or learn a mew song on guitar. But i would suggest learning guitar to ANYONE! And then that opens up into bass as an option later. As far as drums, I started when i was 8. But its never too late to start! Even if you dont have a sense of beat, get a pair of sticks (even pens or pencils) and listen to some music... And hold a beat with them! I feel the beat whenever music is playing, so that i cant keep my feet from stomping to the beat, or my hands following haha. What are the top five bands your into right now? And do you play guitar or any other instrument?

I have to post this here. I don't know why. But I feel like being angsty today

Agalloch - Limbs - YouTube

Lyrics:

The texture of the soul is a liquid
that casts a vermilion flood.
From a wound carved as an oath,
It fills the riverbank with a sanguine fog.
These arms were meant to be lost,
Hacked, severed, and forgotten.

The texture of time is a whisper
that echoes across the flood.
It's hymn resonates from tree to tree,
Through every sullen bough it sings.
These boughs were said to be lost,
Torn, unearthed, and broken.

Earth to flesh, flesh to wood,
Cast these limbs into the water.

Flesh to wood, wood to stone,
Cast this stone into the water.

I already have voiced how I feel about music here. But this isn't Christian at all, sometimes they even fall into the black metal category. However, I think nearly all underground bands resonate a beautiful sense of depth that I don't often find in many Christian artists. They see life differently than most Christians, and they see the depravity of man- often more so than quite a few Christians do. So, I always prefer non-Christian music, oddly enough. I HATE mainstream music though. That is shallow sex-infused crap.

Haha i was seriously considering it! Lol Im more of the cheap yet effective kind of guy. So any of the RP model pedals I would suggest, unless you become famous and need top grade gear lol. As far as bass, guitar, and amp brands, I'd say get a cheap on first. I myself bought a cheap $100 ion stratacoaster type guitar with a matching amp as my first. I did this for a few reasons. I didnt know if i'd even enjoy guitar, and second of all, if i was messin with it, and something broke, its cheap to fix... Lol LUCKILY i never broke anything! I actually still use that guitar, and i have alot of good memories with that guitar lol But it just depends on what you want, cheap and good enough, or pricey with amazing quality and professional sounds. For me Im thinking about upgrading to a newer guitar, but still shopping. I'd suggest going on your local area craigslist website and looking on there! People sell great stuff on there for cheap! So def check that out! Alot of people will sell a nice bass and amp both together for about 100-150 bucks! Which is an amazing deal for a first buy! Just do alot of searchin around and make sure you buy something your happy with and feels comfortable playing. Hope that helps!

I can agree to an extent with you, some nonchristian bands have a good different outlook on life... As long as there is no swearing, and there is still a good meaning to the song, than i would listen to it. And ya, i hate mainstream music. I like listening to bands nobody has heard of. Like to speak of wolves, not many have heard of them, and they are amazing! Cheers to non mainstream music!!!

I see what your saying. TO start with bass i minus well get a off brand or cheap one. that way i dont have to spend some much money on something i may or may not like, plus i can upgrade later. I started a chrisitan metal/deathcore side project band this summer so i play mostly metal stuff. I currently have a black vendetta but i thinking of getting a scheter jackhammer with seymour duncan pick ups or just change my pickups and neck to a ibanez on the one i have now. Oh in case if u didnt know, i admire dimeback darrel but i hate dean guitars. Its like the quality is for 10 yrs or something. FOr pedals i was thinking about either getting a hd 400 line 6 pedal or build my own set, with overdrive distorition, clean, compressoer, noise removal etc. I want alot of stuff lol but seriously, i tried a half stack line 6 gear my friend had, it is awesome! its wat i need for stage shows.

If you want a cheap, but good bass, get a Yamaha. That was my first bass(still is my bass), and people with much nicer basses and heck of a lot more skill have complimented me on its sound. Its very acousticy/woody sounding.

Ya, prolly a good idea lol thats awesome! I have wanted to start a band for a really really long time. But never been able to cause all my friends arent verry good at their instruments. Really?! No dean guitars?! They arent amazing, but their still decent lol Ya, i have wanted to build my own effects pas for a long time, but never had the funds too. Ans, i need something compact, cause i need all my stuff to fit in my carrying case. This makes the RP-80 perfect for traveling :D Do you have any recordings of your band or any video? I'd be really interested in checkin it out!

No not right now, that why its a side project right now. The reason why we havent record yet is bc we dont want to make something crappy and call it good. were trying to take our time in just making a demo cd first. But whenever we finally record, i will link u to our page. And lol ya dean guitars arent my type. I like the one i have now, thin body, light feel, but quailty wise, i could care less. so im gonna seymour duncan it lol

I second Yamaha. My guitar has been toyed with to no end. It's a Yamaha, and it's held up beautifully. It still sounds beautiful, too. The harmonics still ring for 20 seconds, just like new.

Ok looks like i found a bass to get. Thxs guys for the recommendations. funny how this form turned into a musical debate.
