Where is the power

Not long ago my son reminded me of an experience we had while pastoring a small church. Our ministry was to criminals, poor people, we let the homless people sleep in or homes and meeting place. food was constantly a need the ministry never asked for much especialy money.

As we were about to leave for a short vacation my son very young at the time asked me if we had any money to go on. i said all I have is a check book , God will help us.

After our meeting that day a lady I had ony met once before walked up to me and handed me a check saying "God told me to give this to you 6 months ago, I am sorry it is late, it is for you to do with what you want."

I put the check in my pocket thanking her. When i opened it I saw a check for what i thought was a few hundred dollars it was for 7,000 dollars, most of which we used for the poor.

I hope you thanked God for such a wonderful gift. As i walk along or am driveing down the street, i remember when Jesus was walking around help those who seeked him and helping those he found. Out of nothing but love and to show the love of the Father he did these things. Often people thank me or you or us but we must remember the deeds in which we do things all thanks should be givein to the Father. this is also a great way to start up a conversation about God and Jesus to help spread the word.

There is so much power in Jesus! It is great to hear of your experience and even greater to hear of your selfless act of giving much of it to the poor.
I am getting ready to go on a trip to D.C. and went on one to Seattle to help feed the homeless it is a great experience...
