I am not familiar with that phrase. It is not used in the church groups that I move in. Perhaps it is just a metaphorical phrse that is calling on people to make Praise a major part of our lives.

Perhaps someone else will have more to share on this.

There are,of course churches that are called 'Temple of Praise',but I don't have any personal experience with them.

There is the verse in Acts 3:8b '....and entered with them into the temple walking and leaping and praising God!'

Also Psalm 138:2 'I will worship towards your holy temple. I will give thanks to Your name, because of Your mercy and truth. You have made Your name and Your promise greater than anything'.

All who are 'in Christ are 'temples of the Holy Spirit'. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.(1 Cor.6:15-20) ' What? Know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God and you are not your own..'

The chorus goes,

'' For I'm (the LORD) building a people of power
And I'm building a people of praise,
Who will move through this land by My Spirit
And will glorify My precious name.''
Build Your Church Lord, make us strong Lord,
Join our hearts Lord, through Your Son,
Make us one Lord in Your Body,
In the kingdom of Your Son'.

Though I believe that the previous 2 posters have the answer.

We know that the tabernacle that David built was filled with praise and worship 24/7 compared to Moses' Tabernacle that all about sacrifice and being cleansed, and very ritualistic.

That is an interesting difference you have suggested between Moses' Tabernacle and David's. Do you have any ideas as to why there was a difference? I am trying to understand this. I don't remember any decree or fiat by God that would have changed the purpose of the tabernacle.

Well, here's some basic info -

One of the first things David did when he became king was get the Ark of the Covenant back.

The process was - I Chron 14 to 15 –King David had learned how to handle the Ark of the Covenant appropriately with the priests and the Levites being sanctified themselves, etc. He spake to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren to be the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, sounding, by lifting up the voice with joy. (I Chron 15:16). All of Israel (thousands of people) shouted, played instruments, danced and sung as the Ark was brought to the city of David (v28). They had made sacrifices every 6 steps 2Sa 6:13 on the 8? mile trip. Also, once the Ark was in place, they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord (II Samuel 6:17).

They were still doing sacrifices at Moses' tabernacle and all of the furnishings were still there.

David really wanted to build a temple to honor Yahweh but was denied (II Sam 7). So he prepared a tent to house the Ark (God’s presence) and they worshiped Yahweh for 33 years while David reigned in that city (I Chron 16:1, 1Ki 2:11; I Chr 29:27). So the spirit of David's tabernacle is one of ...

They worshipped and served the Lord through:
Singers and singing (1 Chronicles 15:16-27 & 25:1-7)
Musicians and instruments (1 Chronicles 23:5, 25:1-7)
Ministry of Levites before the Ark (1 Chronicles 16:6,6,37)
Recording (1 Chronicles 16:4, 28:12, 19)
Thanking the Lord (1 Chronicles 16:4, 8, 41)
Praise (1 Chronicles 16:4, 36)
Psalms (1 Chronicles 16:9, Psalms 98:6)
Rejoicing and joy (1 Chronicles 16:10, 16, 25, 31)
Clapping hands (Psalm 47:1, 98:8, Isaiah 55:12)
Shouting (1 Chronicles 15:28, Psalms 47:1, 5; Isaiah 12:6)
Dancing (1 Chronicles 15:29; 2 Samuel 6:14, Psalms 149:3; Psalms 150:4)
Lifting up hands (Psalms 134: 141:2) (Lamentations 3:41)
Worship (1 Chronicles 16:29, Psalms 29:1-2, 95:6)
Seeking the Lord (1 Chronicles 16:10-11, 2 Chronicles 7:14)
Spiritual sacrifices (Psalms 27:6, 1 Peter 2:3-5, Hebrews 13:15,16)
Saying Amen (1 Chronicles 16:36)

288 singers (I Ch 25:7)

276+ Musicians I Chr 16: 4-7 plus 1Ch 25:8-31

This compares to late in his life and after Solomon had become king, out of 38,000 Levities (1Ch 23:3), David appointed 4,000 to minister to Yahweh with instruments (v 5). There was worship 24/7 (1Ch 9:33). There were 1 hr shifts with 24 shifts and their turns began in the first month of the Jewish calendar (I Chron 27:2). Looks like David had all the work done to build the temple, plus deciding on the instruments, singers, etc. except having the structure built.

Then there’s the restoration of the House of David – which is another topic in itself.

Two scriptures ?
1. Why did David take the Ark of the Covenant to the City of David instead of back to the Tabernacle of Moses? II Sam 7 Yahweh was pleased that David wanted to build a temple for His name. Also, the Ark was placed in the Tabernacle of David for 33 years then moved over to Solomon's Temple once it was built.
1. Often I've heard people say there was constant worship in the Tabernacle of David but I wasn't able to locate a scripture to support that. Anyone know of the scripture? There was 24/7 worship in Solomon's temple though.
