Well, this is earthly armor: And Azazel taught men to make swords and knives and shields and breastplates. God gives us heavenly armor when we go to heaven.

Yeah, the steel armor from Azazel is basically the militaries of Earth, and is needless destruction. The jewels may refer to the integrated circuits inside of missiles and modern military weapons.
