I wouldn't read too much into that as, last time I checked,men were still men and women women.

I go by Nehemiah 10:31, which states that buying and selling profanes that day. Also, if the goods being sold are food, it's a cheap workaround for acquiring one's needed food for the day, and Exodus makes it clear it is a form of work not to be done.
