"When Christ died on the Cross, he took on the sins of the whole earth..."
...and why is it believed that people will one day be judged for their sins??
Here come the worms.....
Rev 20:12.......and the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
verse 13.......and they were judged each one according to his works.
verse 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
verse 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
It could be said that this applies only to those whose name is not in the book of life except there are several verses such as:
Romans 14:12
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.
These verses say to me that those who have their name written in the book of life have their sins forgiven but somehow will still need to account
(how exactly that will happen I don't know, I imagine when Gods asks for my accounting I will just hang my head, I mean how does one try to justify any action in the face of the Almighty?) for our actions.
I think 1 Cor 3:14,15 shed more light
If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
If anyone;s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
There are other verses that speak of a believers reward also.
