they are all over ... awaiting a call , like Paul , when God whispers , suggests ...
they are in the wrong place for the wrong reason ... fame , fortune , postion , status
they are where they should be and afraid to give credit where credit is due for the miraculous
they are caught up in pride and self ...
they are where , we the parents , prepared them to be ..

The great men of the church have been run out of church because church is not designed for them. For anyone interested- please read the book "Why men hate going to church"

The book lays it all out. To give you the basics.
Church today is geared towards women who are about 40-50 years old. We promote things like family, safety and comfort. Examples- the church is a family of caring people looking out for each other, church is a safe place to go etc. These are traits geared towards these women. I am NOT saying these are bad things- they are certainly scriptural. However, now ask yourself what are things men are interested in.
Men like adventure and risk. Living the Christian life is not easy. It is risky. You may risk friends, job, reputation etc. Jesus tells us we are sheep in a land of wolves- what's safe about that?
Much of the Christian music today is not helpful to men either. It's all about love and being in the arms of Jesus. Etc, Etc, Etc. Men don't want this stuff. As an example- look at some of our hymns of old- Onward Christian soldier, a Might Fortress to name a few. There are some praise songs that work and I am not advocating just using old hymns but you can see the difference in language.

I do think there is a problem for men and the Church. I know that youth ministry is thriving but what happens when they become Men - they seem to drift off!
I do think especially in the work place they have to be seen as macho and actually alot of men in the Bible were strong but I suppose in a World we are living in where everyone has lost their Identity it is hard to define the reasons why Men feel they are not represented in the Church. I will read those txt.

I wish I could express in words what I see. I will try.
I have noticed time and time again that more often than not it is the woman who leads the man. I have noticed that almost every time I try to talk to people about Jesus it is the woman who listens the most. I do not know what happened.
No...I take that back. I know a little of what happend. It happened when women forgot their place and men put themselves in subjection to them.
Ask where the men of old are...but also ask of the women of old who knew their husband was to be the head!

Sort of - God said later in His Word that "this will be your punishment - you will be ruled over by a woman"
But that was for the disobedient willfull sinners.
The obedient disciples were set free to live free from that and other bondages. They still are today, but who can find them ?

The Men of Old are gone from the Church, because the Church, today, wants only feminized and weak little pastors. Just look at the feminized "Pentecostal" groups.
Gone are the strong and thick skinned Men of Old, and they are replaced with wimpy little guys, some of them quite large, who are full of talk with no action.
The feminized Church today is quite the operation, defending itself against anyone who would make it "feel" uncomfortable.

You speak nonsense. There is no such thing as a "call" as you think to understand.
What is keeping the current church leaders from being real men? Their own feminized nature is doing it.

The bible supports the idea that miracles and wonders occur when men of God are around...
Sometimes when it seems like God has abandoned His church it is because they have abandoned Him however there are always men of God and there will always be till the end of the world.
I would say that Doug Batchelour, Ivor Myers and others are truly men of God... I believe that God will cleanse His church and soon there will only be the true men of God left... the false will have fallen.
