  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi all.

I've just spent some time defending the faith against some very narrowminded athiests, and I'm feeling a bit worn out. I could use some uplifting posts, instead of ones intent on tearing down our God!

So I was thinking to start a post on "what do you look forward most to when you get to heaven!"

Besides the obvious of course. Actually, any posts about our future hope would be great! I'll post my thoughts on it too after I read a few others.

Ciao!

I look forward to standing around the throne of God and being able to worship Him for eternity...never getting tired or out of sorts...praising Him with all the redeemed and the angelic beings...forever and forever!!!!

Rev. 4 is a favorite passage of mine to read...that is where I am headed...

to live with out the sin nature in myself and in others. I look forward to the eternal-day when we aren't hurting each other anymore!

Amen! That's what I look forward to most of all, I think. Not being able to sin anymore. never again spitting in the face of the one who saved my by my sinful actions.

The Bride eyes not her garment, but her dear Bridegroom’s face;
I will not gaze at glory but on my King of grace.
Not at the crown He giveth but on His pierced hand;
The Lamb is all the glory of Immanuel’s land.

Mmm... I think wat best describes it for me is the song "I can only imagine" by mercy me

"I Can Only Imagine"

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

[Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

The very first thing I look forward to is looking directly into Jesus' eyes and telling Him that I love Him with all my heart and giving Him a hug. I want to hug Jesus so much and never let go (LOL...of course, I'll have to let go eventually. He can't very well walk around with me around His neck everyday, right? :D ).

The second thing I look forward to is no longer being of a sinful nature. That will be a new experience for all of us since we're not capable of being any other way while we are alive as humans right now.

Thirdly, I look forward to eternal fellowship in heaven with all other Christians. That will be GREAT!!!

:holy: There is just SOOOO much to look forward to. I cannot wait to go and be with my Father in Heaven. I love Him more than anything.

Oh nonsense, you'd make a lovely accessory ;)

Anywho, I look forward to thanking and praising God and Jesus, letting them know how much they have meant to me. I want to also thank the Blessed Mother for her unfaltering love for her son. Also, I can't wait to see my Grandpa again and meet my grandmothers for the first time.

I'll be crying (happy tears) because I know I'll get to see Him and when I do, I'll throw myself in His arms and tell Him just how much I love Him. For getting my attention way back in the days when I was cuttin up and actin a fool. He'll wipe away my tears. No more pain. No more grief. No more struggles. No more drama. And most of all, Satan will be no more. So I look VERY much foward to being with Him and all His children (us) so we can worship and praise Him for all eternity. Never ceasing and never growing weary. We'll be just kickin it with God, know what I mean?

*chuckling* Not to mention we won't have any of those annoying little zits and/or blemishes. Or bloating, or estrogenic attacks, or having to go out and buy expensive facial/body products that claim to do this and that for you when it really doesn't work at all and you just wasted money that you coulda used for buying your favorite food or shoes. :p And who knows, maybe I'll have really long hair that I've always longed to have, eh? :D

God is good, no? ;)
