i sit down by the cold river on a bridge


smiling down

seeing

the reflection as i ponder ancient thoughts

i still think of nothing but you.
it's impossible -- even when i jump
into the crystal clear
water
i still land

and you -- you are not there

--no matter how hard i try to run--
you always belong

--five steps ahead.
