Why would some question say that it wouldn't or doesn't matter what color Jesus is? Others would say that while it is true, Jesus' color would matter since history has said that it does and still do? When if the Jesus that came back was an actual Sub Saharan African? How much would it matter to You if Jesus were a black African? I realize that this is somewhat of a touchy subject, but I keep reading and hearing that Jesus was not black since it doesn't matter. My point to all of this is, if one claims to be ready to be a believer in Christ and you would finally see the actual "race" of Jesus, how much would it truly matter to you?
I would think that while it would not matter, it does seem to matter more because if there were a representation of a black African Jesus more so than a white European Jesus. While the Bible doesn't state that He was a black African or a white European, Jesus was a Semite. The real issue is that "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." Isaiah 53:2
My question is, what if the Messiah was truly a black African man instead of having the "look" of a Semite, (as Semites are as diverse as those who are Hamites or Japhetites) , would you be ready when He were to return as He was?
My point is, would You be surprised to see that a black African man was beaten, humiliated, and died for us, an undeserving humanity instead of a Jew who is a white European or a Semite like an Arab. The problem is with a few of the Jesus doesn't matter that He is a Jewish crowd that it seems to me that there is still some prejudice in the Church that has been addressed. I don't want to say that when someone were to ask if Jesus were black or white, I have noticed that there was a reaction that wold state that it isn't possible, as Jesus was a Jew. Would some of these same people answer that question if Jesus were a white European? My guess could either be yes, or could either be no.
What I am saying that in one's lips that Jesus doesn't matter, but in that person's heart that He cannot be a black African. There are others who say that His color does matter and that those who believe otherwise will be surprised to see a black African Jesus. If this is the case, would it make that Christian shallow, or deep down a racist or prejudiced, and thus really not ready for Jesus' return?
