Every time you see LORD in capital letters instead of Lord, the Hebrew is Yahweh (in the Old Testament).

This begins in Genesis chapter 1 and continues throughout the Hebrew Bible, except for Esther, which is really just the story of a manipulative little girl that makes no mention of God whatsoever (note, some English translations rely the ancient Greek translation, which is later and added mentions of God, but they're not in the original Hebrew text).

What verse of the bible in original text does the name "Yehweh " first appear? Does the name first appear on the mountain with Moses?

Also, would it be correct to say that Abraham, Isac and Jacob did not know the proper name Yehweh? If they did know then why did Moses ask GOD what his name was?

If Abraham, Isaac and Jacob didn't know what Yahweh's name was, why did Abraham name the place where he was about to Sacrifice Isaac, "Yahweh Yire" ?

Genesis 22:14
Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “Yahweh will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of Yahweh it will be provided.”
