Yes. Although, I often prefer a No 4 pencil. Its a harder lead, so they dont write as dark unless you press harder, but the point will stay sharper longer, giving you thinner lines for a longer period of time.

They're especially convenient because their marks don't smudge so easily when doing fieldwork while trying to write down your findings on weatherproof paper in the pouring rain .

A good analogy is the lottery: What are the odds of someone winning the lottery? Like 1 in 21 million. Now, imagine someone winning the lottery and claiming God made them win. I was wanting to say something like this, but you have said it better. Certainly, in infinity, there is going to be a planet that life got lucky with. A question is, "Are we alive by chance, or are we ordained to live?"

If we are alive by chance, then I can see there being no God. This also means that there are an infinite amount of possibilities (or maybe just an infinite amount within the confines of physical laws). That means that there is an infinite amount of exactly the same Earth as we live on today. (As I'm typing this, there is another Michael typing the same thing.) As well as an infinite amount of Michaels who will die from an assasin's blade. To me, this seems like chaos, and it is a wonder that more "lucky" (and I mean lucky) things do not occur all around us all the time. Or even unlucky. So, as every second passes by, we become even luckier that our planet and it's life survives.

Now, if there is no confines for possibilities, (physical laws), then there is an extremely broad amount of orderless chaos. i.e.: We are fortunate that the sky does not turn green from an alien bunny swimming in sulfur pools somewhere in another galaxy shaped like a back scratcher. They say that all physical laws are broken in the center of a black hole.

This is just my thinking: that there is an infinity under the confines of God's order. And if not (and I don't believe so), then there is some sort of "spiritual" reality above our own that defines the limits of infinity.

That's all fine and dandy, but there's nothing we observe in nature that points to such a conclusion. Granted, you may be right, but you no way of providing any evidence to support it. So don't be surprised when some people have no belief in a god or the supernatural.

Yes, I know that. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And from my view point, I am suprised to see that other people cannot agree with my opinion. As it is with every opinion not supported by plain fact.

I can no longer be in awe of (what I call) ignorant people, but of people who take their life for granted even though they agree that they are just really lucky. "Just roll with it as long as you have something to roll on". But what if what your rolling for hasn't any worth. Which is living with no purpose.
