What's Your Story?

So guys, i want to know what your story is. How did you become a christian if you are one? What's your experience with christianty if youre not? Here's the story of how i became christian:
I grew up in a christian home with two loving christian parents. When i was younger, i went to sunday school like most little christian kids. But i didnt truly believe in jesus. More like i didnt really understand it. In sixth grade, i didnt go to youth group much because i though didnt like it very much. However, my friend invited me to go on the middle school youth group retreat with her. I decided to go and those three days at Canp McCullough changed me. I saw alot of people who completely believed in jesus and i though it was so cool how much you could be devoted to faith. The songs mostly were what conneceted me to jesus because im a musician. Music is really what i find jesus in alot. Anyways, after that, i began going to youth group every week and i just unofficially accepted jesus into my heart. Since then, ive been needing jesus alot. I fight with my mom alot, i get mad at my friends alot which has caused me alot of problems in school, my dads lost his job, for a while i wasnt doing good in school, but the whole time i kept following jesus, sometimes that was all i could do, but in the end its worked out pretty good.

I grew up in a Christian home. To me, God was the boss. He had a few rules we had to follow and would punish us if we didn't and do good things for us if we obeyed. I guess salvation was very works based in my eyes. When I was about 12 I did something I considered terrible, to me and to God, and it was something I had promised Him I'd never do. I thought I was too awful to be forgiven.

When I was 15 I started attending the youth group at a non-denominational church, because a guy I liked went there and it was a chance to hang out with him without my parents complaining. The youth leader - a middle aged guy with two teenagers and an amazing faith - was the first person to really explain to me that the Jesus died for sinners. Somehow, I'd never understood it before. 3/25/2012 was the day that Christ saved me... ever since then, I've gone through a lot of ups and downs but I have had faith that God forgives sinners.

Yes, it does. And "religious" is kind of a hard word to define... I think the true meaning has more to do with the idea that salvation matters to a person, but a lot of people use it as a word for "this person is stuck up and thinks they're perfect" so being called "religious" is almost an insult.

It is the heart that counts... the first thing you need to do is believe with your heart... all the rest is second to that (and relies on that)

I'm a lifelong Catholic. I do intellectually believe in God, and always have.
When I was 12, I remember just talking to God and it felt like the Holy Spirit was washing over my soul. I felt God's consolation. It was an incredible experience. All of my doubt, all of my unconscious agnosticism, and "Does God really love me" was removed once and for all.

Since then, I have constant longing for God, a constant desire to need him. [I'm in the middle of a dry spell which seems to be endless, may his will be done].
