  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just wanted to get your opinion on some pictures I have taken lately. Feel free to comment and critique them. By the way, i don't edit any of my pictures. When I edit my pictures, I feel like it's not quite all my work anymore because that's now what it was when I took the picture. So I post them just the way they came!

I'm drawn to #3...it's the contrast of the road...(it almost looks misty) and the surrounding greenery and hills.....the road is what really caught my eye.

I like #1 too...a close-up of the bee on the purple would be even more eye-catching.

I like #4 too..it's the root of that big ol' timeless tree that's a draw for me....it's glorious....more focus on the roots maybe would be even more interesting.

#3 is a real eye-catcher.....love it

Agree on Three.....

Where was that taken?

P.S. You can also try posting up in the Photography section for more comments on your style and technique.
It was taken on Mount White Top which is the second tallest mountain in Virginia, US. "Mount Rogers is right next to it which is tallest" We just went up this little road and it was gorgeous. The road kept narrowing though so after about 20 minutes of going up the mountain, we decided to turn around while we had the chance.

I love number five for a couple reasons... It's home, and it looks really cool with the trees on either side, and the stratus clouds add an interesting effect to the picture. But ALL are wonderful!

I voted for number 3 ;)

As far as suggestions, I have one for number 1. I like the shallow depth of field (flower in focus, background blurry) but there seems to be no "grounding" I sort of feel like I am looking at it in a weird angle. You should have gotten down to where you and the bee were level and taken it that way, it looks as if you are standing and looking down at the bee, but not down enough to be clear. I hope that makes sense.

I liked number 4 the best. Number 3 is conventionally good, but I think that the subject matter of number 4 is more interesting. I really like the angle of the shot, and the precariousness of the tree perched there. Number 5 is nice too, but that's because I'm fascinated by the sky:)
