1. Do you believe in the absolute sovereignty of God? It is the idea that God is in charge, so He controls everything that happens on earth. 2. How would you prove that we used to be far more evil than we are now? Interesting, the "end of the conversation" is usually reached when I've cornered someone, but I didn't think you sounded stuck yet! Anytime we are proud, we are insulting God. He made us to be humans, and He made us so that no one human is better than all the rest. When we try to be wonderful/unusual/better than others, we are insulting God's wisdom by disregarding the order with which He created us. As for pride only being a problem when it is at the expense of others, I disagree. I believe Adam and Eve committed the sin of pride in the garden of Eden (They wanted to be better than they were, they wanted to be like God) And look how well that worked for them! Their pride was not at the expense of others, but God was upset with them anyway. (However, I suppose you could claim that Adam and Eve's pride was at the expense of God. It would make sense to say that they were dissing God when they ate the fruit, and insulting His glory. But then it could be countered that since Adam and Eve were insulting God by trying to be greater than humans, whenever we are proud we are insulting God by trying to be greater than He created us to be.) And Hello to Hetta. :) Sorry about this thread being a little off topic. Gracie
