I have two main passages I like. One is in 1st kings chapter 19 verses 4-12. Where Eljiah runs, God feeds him and shows Elijah that God is in the still small voice.

The other is the apostle Paul speaking in Romans 7:15 through about verse 25. Where he talks about the struggle of being human.

There is one verse I do admire by itself. Isaiah 6:8
"I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I; send me."

I have no real favorite book of Bible. There are so many good ones. If I had to limit myself, I would say the 4 Gospels. You can work out the rest of the details from that, but without those the Bible is meaningless.

Favorite verse: "Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." (Christ's Sermon on the Mount Matt. 5:6).
My interpretation: Many of us will never find righteousness, but as long as we continue to search for it we will be full of life. This verse to me shows Christ's ultimate understanding and ever patient love for us, His flock.

Favorite Book: All four Gospels and within them the Gospel according to St. John. John dictated his gospel very late in his life according to history. I believe that this gospel was not only dictated by him but also by the Holy Spirit which had been cultivating inside him for 60+ years when it was written. His gospel is very spiritual which is the route that my relationship with God has taken.

Peace and thank you for reading-

I can't choose between Galatians, James, and Romans myself. The reason being is they all seem to speak strongly to me about much of what I struggle with today and those around me and teaches us how to treat others.

My favorite verses would have to be:

(Romans 5:3-5) Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character' and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

(John 14:27) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Phil 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

My best-friend wrote that into my bible as he gave it to me before going off to college. It helps keep up the faith

I also really like the sermon on the mount, in matthew (so maybe that's my favorite book?)

1 O LORD , you have searched me
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD .

5 You hem me in-behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [1] you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to [2] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

19 If only you would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD ,
and abhor those who rise up against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

What is your favorite book in the Bible and why?
I don't know that I have a favorite book in the Bible, but my favorite passages are from John, but I love reading about the time Jesus spent in the Galilee.

What's Your Favorite Verse What is it?

John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Hebrew 6

7 (For the earth drinking in the rain often coming upon it, and producing vegetation suitable for those for whom it is also worked, receives blessing from God;
8 "but bearing thorns and thistles," it is deemed unfit and near a curse, of which the end is for burning.)

In other words, be led by the Holy Spirit, submit to His refining and renewing and God will produce the fruit of the Spirit in you. If you don't give everything to Him and allow the things of this world to premeate your life, instead of Him, you will produce that which is ungodly - something God does not take lightly.

Song of Solomon 8:6-7

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
