I ABSOLUTELY agree with dropping the labels. Nobody wants to be called a "conspiracy theorist," because we get images of aluminum foil hats. However, if people would research the information themselves, they could make an informed decision. Notice I said, "informed," because even when we've been informed, we are known to be wrong, on occasion. The name calling and labelling usually follows when the responder has no point. The label "conspiracy theorist" is a thought stopper. if we dropped the labels, and simply discussed evidence, facts, crap or whatever it may be, this place might actually live up to its name ...a "forum".
The problem, of course, is the people who insist that the crap is the facts, and the facts are crap. The name calling and labelling usually follows when the responder has no point. There are a couple of molds. But all conspiracy theorists fit into at least one of them.
Ooh. OK, well, I'll probably regret this, but what conspiratorial belief would you be more comfortable without?

I didn't watch the videos, but I'm familiar with most most truther theories, which version do you subscribe to?

Because I've seen it all before. Again, what version of the truther theory do you subscribe to?There is a ton of information in both videos, especially the second(September Clues). The analysis of the video done in that speaks for itself. Why not take a look?
I've yet to see an outcome or good reason for these conspiracies. Wouldn't you think there was a point to them?

*sigh* Make a specific point, and I'll address it specifically.I posted the videos. That is the version I subscribe to, and even then it tells only part of the story. The TV fakery side. There are of course, other videos that expose other parts of the how and why. If you've really "seen it all before" - then comment on the videos posted.
And I mean point by point. Not a sweeping generalization.
*sigh* Make a specific point, and I'll address it specifically.
But remember a few posts back I said you'd demand an unreasonable burden of evidence, far in excess of what got you to believe the theory in the first place? Demanding point by point refutations of *everything* in a bunch of videos looks like just that.
Again, make a specific point, and we'll address it. You mention TV fakery? What TV fakery?
Conspiracies do happen but a lot the theories being passed around (birther, chemtrails, Shariah being implemented in the US, UN outlawing religion in the US, FEMA death camps, etc...) are tin foil hat city. A lot of them have some overarching single uber conspiracy that controls literally everything.
Lets address one at a time. I won't latter try to claim there's only one. So? Pick one.For that, you have to watch the second video. Sorry - you want one little piece of evidence to work with and then I suspect you'll treat it as if it's the only bit of evidence. If there was only one bit of evidence, then that would be unreasonable yes?
That's why I said watch the videos. At least watch the second one. It's not "one smoking gun" - it's lot's of smoking guns.
People WANT there to be a big story that connects all events into a meaningful narrative.
.
We are meaning addicts. If we cant find meaning, we'll invent it.
.
The problem, of course, is the people who insist that the crap is the facts, and the facts are crap.
I think I'm pretty open minded, but on closer inspection, the official stories usually make the most sense. Sorry, but there it is. I accept the possibility that any given conspiracy might be true, but the evidence presented for most conspiracies is highly questionable, to say the least.Sorry, it is not just you. But it does seem to always be the same people.
