Snap!!! Sue.... cold-snap that-is!!!

at least a couple of degrees of frost here -2.C also
there was, an air frost here last night
ie: rooftops and car roofs only
but, overnight, the 'mud' in the back garden
has turned into frozen Blackforest gateau

The sun is shining brightly anyway
and 'behind-glass' with the heating on
we can 'pretend' it is summer again

It actually crept above freezing a few days ago, but boy oh boy did we pay for it! It melted just enough to coat the roads in ice once the temps fell again, and it's just continued to be a challenge every day, one thing or another. Today is sunny and pretty, but wind gusting to 40 mph negates any warmth that the sun might afford! And tonight? More snow. . . another 6 inches predicted . .

So so so tired of the cold . . lol

Oddly enough, one of the things I miss from summer is the sound of thunder . .

it's 43 degrees F but very windy...the skies were crystal clear last night and i saw a star sparkling like a diamond in the sky right outside my window.....

LOL Dave . Sorry everyone is feeling so cold. I had a walk earlier this evening and it was cold, but pleasant once I had walked for a while. I went early as I was frightened of slipping on black ice later. I love the starlit sky and sparkle of the frost, but I wish it was a bit warmer. Parts of the house are cold, and I don't want to turn up the heating too much as I think the heat is escaping through the walls. (The house is too old for cavitiy wall insulation!) Ironically it is hard to cool the house in summer. There is no temperature gauge on the thermostat, so I have no idea what temperature the heating is set on!

presently, temp' is between -1 and 0.C

I believe I have seen that very same star in the west from me

If there are clear skies in the days to come I will take a pic

Visible [here] from the very early evening [before dusk]
it, must be, one of the brightest stars in our skies
