  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Never thought I'd post in this thread, as anybody knowing me, knows I don't do "chit-chat" well.
but -
oh my gosh, Summer's only started, yet it got to 95!! today, &
I'm just a leeetle-sprout, so I overheat FAST. Worse,
mix-up
which FANS to turn on when, circulating the air which way, lol
&
TOPping that, we participated in a RALLY today -
in the midst
of this heat: Imagine running... in between red-lights,
between cars
passing out flyers, during RUSH-hour traffic
over 2 hours no less.
Yes, I was doing this, right alongside the same teenage skaters, I normally share the ice
with.

To survive afterwards, I hid inside a store to COOL down.

What you went through isn't funny, but your relating it is.

I hide in the walk in refrigerator or freezer at work for a minute when I get over heated.

What kind of work are you doing?

Hopefully I've got the fans figgered out , & down
daily 1/2-gallon++ of lemonade, Fruit-teas, &
(rarely icecream: to stay about 110lbs.) for Skating...
.

It's 78F here right now and much cooler during the rains of this week than normal. I give thanks for lots of rain that filled our city reservoirs and stock ponds in the area. The farmers and ranchers are also giving thanks for getting all of the rain that they need. We had some close calls with flash-flooding, and they did have to open the flood-gates on our main water supplies, but everything is great. God has been good to us and we all give thanks.

66 degrees and clear. It's supposed to hit upper 80s today and sunny.

They've changed my routing, so my workday weather will be different some days than what we get here in the Western and Northwest "Burbs. I'll be spending my workdays in wild, exciting(???) downtown Kankakee, and they often get rains/snows that we miss here and vice-versa.
