• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

The point in living is that God has a great plan for you, no matter how you're feeling! He's the One who formed you and He's the One who's always there for you! Take up how you're feeling to God, and even if it seems hopeless, keep trusting in Him. Said a prayer for you.

Hi Jeldist.

- A lot who succeeded in life put an objective that is strong in front of them and by doing that they found a great will and energy to live and to achieve their target in their life.
- Other people did not yet find their clear goal but they are still on the search.
- Others live without a goal and those are the persons that easily surrender to the storms of life, and their goal is to kill time because the time for them no longer has a value and a message to do.

We read the stories of the people that succeed and we try to be like them and sometimes it leads us to be pride and to not focus on our goal but we may come to focus on our selves instead, but why not look at Jesus? Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. And one of his goals is that he came to preach the Kingdom of God, another goal was the cup of suffering on the cross. Someone may say that his goals were fixed, that is right but there were also people who chose to die for their faith in Jesus, they didn't surrender because they had their goal.

As you see people made their own point in living.

So why wait to know about a goal instead of making your own whatever the goal may be and follow it? Also the goals of a christian are good goals and if you are overwhelmed by the storms of life do not worry because there is a saviour who calms the storm, and here you may wish to understand something: it is true that a christian should not focus on himself as a target but he should attempt to be better meaning to reform oneself spiritually to not loose it completely, because Jesus said: For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?

I would like to end this with a verse of the bible about goal:
Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

I hope that I was able to help.

let me tell ya, the point of living is the reason God put you here! he formed you and shaped you exactly as you are. just think, you could have been aborted or died at birth, or you could have not been created. but youre not, and why? because God wants you here. so youre different. so what? how boring life would be if everyone was the same!!
I hated being different, I was bullied at school and didn't understand why everyone thought differently to me, but now I understand. there is no one else like me who can do the job God has assigned me to do.
for example, imagine if everyone in the world was academic, then there would be no creative people to write, draw etc..
if everyone in the world was a florist, there would be no doctors! and so on so forth...

people will be cruel to you, you may get bullied, but don't let it get to you that much that you feel life is pointless. remember that Jesus thought differently to a lot of people, he was mocked, attacked etc...
don't let the devil get the last laugh by making you feel like you want to end your life. youre bigger and stronger than that, and even in those times you feel youre not... God always is.
in those times when you feel alone and weak, seek him, and you shall find!
please, don't just read this and ignore it and carry on your way of thinking, you have a choice right now. a choice to either ignore this, or to take it, and to keep fighting strong!
and well done for seeking help, that the first step :)
God bless you.

Jeldist, are you on the autistic spectrum? The answers given to you are Biblically sound, but not knowing your circumstances, we may not know how to best answer you (where you can hear it). If you are suffering from clinical depression (regardless of whether you have autism or not), you may need to have it treated, first, before you can be receptive to hope.

If you know it to be a temporary ennui (as with physical sickness), get plenty of rest and hold off on making any major decisions, until you feel better.
