I'm against abortion.

I fully believe that conception is the beginning of the human life and I think there is plenty of scripture to back that up. I know it would be tough when we are talking about the life of the mother being on the line as well, but its my thought that we should put God first and trust in him. I'm sure that God would forgive someone if they did have an abortion (for whatever reason) if they repented, and I know he would use that action for His own good, but I don't think God would condone the action regardless of the situation.

Funny you should bring this up. I was driving through Pontiac last night and there were people holding up signs with pictures of aborted babies. Very sad to look at:cry: It's amazing that people can have an abortion knowing what the result is if only on a physical level.

I can't imagine a Baptist with a pro-choice view. If I meet one I will not debate the issue, but I will ask them to explain the fundamental beliefs of Baptist. If they have equipped themselves to make strong arguments for abortion rights but do not know the fundamentals of the Baptist faith, I will then ask them why they formed this thinking apart from the faith they claim to hold.

What am I trying to say? You can't be pro-choice and Baptist, you have to give one of them up.

there's always a few that will be difficult about things, there's a girl that said she was a "devout catholic" a few weeks ago, now she says she pro-choice, and she's going to be agnostic...some people....*rolls eyes*

im totally against abortion, but do all baptists think its wrong, or is it a matter of personal opinion?
I imagine there are some Baptists who are pro-choice. However, I doubt that there are very many Baptist churches that are promoting a pro-choice stance.

I am a Baptist who is morally against abortion but am willing to consider some arguments for the legalization of abortion on the grounds that prohibition of abortion may not necessarily be the best way to minimize the number of abortions. Then again, maybe it is.

How do you other Baptists view a person who has been raped at a very young age, maybe 14 or 15 and has ended up pregnant because of the situation? Just curious as I am a baptist and can relate to the tough decisions concerning this issue - having spent some time working at the local "WE help Pregnancy Center." I am looking for opinion, I am not stating one here. I believe in Pro-life, but when this circumstance arises, it is more difficult to ponder as the act was done through hideous evils and not any amount of unsafe or immature love. If that makes any sense here.
